sadly, i read fairly fast, but don't retain for the long term. so, one of the reasons i re-read a book is that after 2 or 3 years, i do remember having read it but don't remember much of the details. at times, that's economical. when the budget's tight, i can dig through my kindles or the basement and pull out an old book to re-read rather than spend money on a new book. : )
