of all of the hosts listed here, the hosting job i enjoyed most is TOTALLY Hugh Jackman. i remember that opening number he did, still; that "homemade/economic recession" number - a great idea, a great REALIZATION of that idea, PLUS a great performance by Jackman. With the current fashion of ironic, rather chilly hosts (i don't have to bring up James Franco in woman's evening wear, do I??), Hugh was warm, funny and charming.
...Steve Martin was also great. I may be wrong, but it doesn't seem that Alec Baldwin was included on the list... not that i would have voted, but it's strange nonetheless if they DID in fact leave him off, no?
