People do tend to get bent out of shape over other people's opinions. I have never heard of covers being criticized in a review let alone calling out the model... But as far as I see it was just an opinion expressed... One that DeeJay obviously felt strongly about otherwise she wouldn't have mentioned it at all. The fact is when you request a review (or even if you don't) you are expecting an honest opinion of that book from the reader. It may be a bit out there but it was an opinion and she has a right to it. Truth be told if the worst thing you had to say about my book was directed at the cover... I'd probably be pretty chuffed... But that's just my opinion.

I think everyone is allowed to have an opinion, but I was taken aback a bit by DeeJay's comments on the model being "ugly." I'd certainly never seen that model on a book cover before, so if I happened to use it for one of my books, I'd be none the wiser. It might be the same for some of the other authors...
I agree with Mark, that if commenters aren't seeing these posts as *opinions*, they are narrow-minded.
