Is This Dress Appropriate For Church?

A better question than whether or not the dress is appropriate is whether or not the question is appropriate. It demonstrates the hypocrisy of the church. I haven't gone in years (since I wasted my morning listening to a sermon on how the Da Vinci Code is satanic) and I don't miss it in the slightest.

If looking at a woman in any outfit causes your mind to go to an impure place, then you are the one with the problem. I don't care if she is in there in a string bikini, you control yourself.

& us Christians wonder why some many people decline attending church these days. It's disgusting the amount of judgement that's being passed. I was raised old school also, but the old way of thinking is EXACTLY why so many people do not want to attend church! Come as you are means come as you are! Everyone doesn't have "Sunday's Best." & for those of you claiming it's a distraction, let's not overlook the fact that IF SOMEONE TRULY COMES TO CHURCH FOR PRAISE/TO HEAR THE WORD OF GOD NOBODY WILL BE ABLE TO COME BETWEEN THAT! Maybe you're attending church for the wrong reasons? Keep in mind the type of people Jesus reached out to& made disciples before you get too saintified! Time to get off your high horses! Be thankful she attends in this day& age!

A dress does not have to show skin for it to be revealing, so yes her dress is inappropriate for church, but I'm a woman who wears pants to church and people don't agree with that, but the Lord did not set a dress code and church should welcome anyone with open arms, shouldn't matter what you wearing as long as you're receiving the word.

First off, the pastor is WRONG for posting this. BUTTTTTTT No her dress isnt showing skin, but she shouldnt have wore that to church. Its Not Modest. Look at the guys lusting after that booty. Yes she has a big booty and thats what she was blessed with, but she needs to save the showing off of that blessing for outside of church. I have big boobs, but when I go to church, I wear something that isnt tight fitting on my boobs. You supposed to be going to church to worship God, but how can other people focus on God and the preacher when the way you dressed is causing a distraction and causing some people (and yes it is human nature) to lust over you. Save the lusting clothes for the club.

Maybe this dress is a tad bit inappropiate but at least she has came to the house of the lord know matter how she is dressed and for ppl to be passing judgment is wrong. This maybe all the clothes she has and at least it's covering her up ... smh. God is not through with us yet and what skeletons do you have in your closet to be throwing stones at others . Look in the mirror and shut you mouth . To the pastor that thought it was ok to put this on social media go back and read your bible because you clearly have issues .

She probably didn't have bad intentions . And another thing if her butt was flat it wouldn't have matter. That's y I don't go to church cause even church and pastors judge you. And if i was going to this church I would stop going. I mean people can't help they have curves. Ijs

"Come as you are" means your heart not your attire . This means anything that is wrong can be rectified. This does not mean clothing and dragging into the house of the Lord looking a mess. "Conservative" is the key and no one needs to know what's under your clothes when you are out in public! If there was a dress code at a club or where she works it would be mandatory that she comply and she would. It is disheartening that there are those that choose NOT to speak out because they possibly have similar issues or may be called a hater. Don't get it twisted I am not "hating" on this woman but inappropriate is what it is. The "hater" comments are the same as being called a "snitch" when you have the dignity to stand up for what is right. Judging others has nothing to do with that dress. This lady may be very nice person but the dress is still inappropriate for church or any the religious service.

The bible teaches us the "come as we are". Isaiah 1:18 is a good reference. The church is not for the saved, but a workshop for us sinners.
The pastor that posted this picture should spent more time working with the young women at this church and less time trying to "dress shame" them.

We are the light of the world.Dressing like a prostituted doesn't make you look special no. The kind of men that's going to approach you will always be a public dog. Because when you dress good a good men is going approach you and keep it real with you and respect you like a woman don't followed the crowd Thanks Jesus loves everyone.

Well they do say come as you are

She could have dressed it up with a nice oversized sweater wrap. That would have covered up the pear and made the dress more appropriate for church.

I believe her choice of dress is totally inappropriate! I'm a firm believer in come as you are, but that doesn't mean come wearing clothes that distract others. I'm shaped as the lady in the pic, but choose not to draw attention to myself because we are there to worship the Lord.

We must approach worship as a sacred time. The church is the temple of God. If we were to come face to face with the most Holy God, would we want to meet him with this dress or would we feel ashamed? There's no need to show what you have because He created you.

It's time for the churches to stand up and set rules. People won't have a problem with it if they are coming for the right reasons. I too attend a mega church in Houston and I'm irritated everytime I see someone dressed this way. ladies wouldn't show up to the club with an
ankle length skirt and a shirt buttoned to their neck because it draws unexcessary attention.
I'm a country girl and when we showed up to church with inappropriate attire, the elderly ladies would make us cover our legs/knees with a scarf and that's embarrassing.

Jesus said come as you are and he loved everyone.

Btw, Ladies you will not find your Boraz in church dressed this way. Men who are seeking a wife, seeks a woman who respects herself. He will choose the lady who stands out, this girl will be dressed appropriately.

Agree with Hatta that this would be a blessing to view in church
