Do you think it's ethical to film police activity?

If a police officer can film us, then yes, we should be allowed to film them. They should be made aware that filming their actions is an option for victims, perpetrators, or bystanders. We live in an age of digital technology, everyone is being filmed everywhere.
Jeff Dunham did an act where he introduced this theory in a comical sense. He had his puppet Walter (?) Comeback with a line "what happens in Washington (?) stays on youtube" while this was a parody, it rings truth!

Um, Veronica, many people are filmed at their jobs on a regular basis. In fact, it is safe to say that pretty much any one who works in any type of retail sales or restaurant are filmed daily. Bank tellers are always on camera. Workers at convenience stores and warehouses, too. And while technically not on camera, more and more delivery drivers are being watched by GPS monitors. Police have long existed in a world where their word was given more credibility than the ordinary citizen, thankfully that is changing.

Nobody is filming you when you are doing your job. The public needs to get off the back of officers period.Let the superiors deal with those cops who have racial or other agendas, which is a fraction and not the majority! Cliche or not: officers risk THEIR lives to keep YOU safe. THAT is the majority.

I would love to hear some explanation as to how filming the police could be considered unethical.

There are cameras placed on building. Such as convenience store. Be able to see the video may not be available to the public. With your device, posting is easy. A saying; a photo worth a thousand words. CL
