The three things that James gives the reformers credit for above, came about despite the reformers being involved. If one member of the four had not gone rogue in each one of those issues, they would not have happened.

Some changes the "reform" board have implemented have been for the true benefit of the District's students (language immersion, initiating the new High Plains school, and preschool funding) with a sense of openness, fairness and cooperation for the improvement of the school district.

But, the majority of the "reformer changes" that have been implemented (or attempted) have come across as underhanded and dishonest attempts to instill outside political agendas that are not openly discussed for merit to our school district. The "reformers" may mean well, but the process in which they conducted business was a disrespectful and harmful example for our students: partial truths, hidden agendas, outside funding/direction, disregard for meeting rules of order, open favoritism of charter schools at the expense of regular public schools, creative accounting to reallocate funding dollars, and wasteful spending of over $250,000 on biased legal council that only defends and advises certain members of the board.... What poor examples of behavior some of our publicly elected school board officials have become.

May the public learn a valuable lesson and choose better this November. The loudest and most bankrolled candidates are not always the best choice, regardless of their professed political affiliation.
