Ms Gabaldon has the ability to bring her "people" to life for us. And I am so very grateful that through her, we know Jamie and Claire. Trying to be patient and wait until the other books from this time period, with these people, are continued on Startz. This network was able to bring into our homes, with much grace and talent her books-- it simply blows my mind!!! We will not see this quality, outstanding series again for some time to come when this saga is finished. From my heart, I thank Ms. Gabaldon for sharing this story in book form and Startz for giving us pictures of the stories we read in her books. Use any and all awards you gleam from this work as something to keep you all striving to repeat it in the future. Thank you BjT

Starting at the top I wanted to check 2,4,5,8 and 12. Love the character and love the books. They add a richness and depth to the series as a whole and by themselves they just plain and simple stimulate my imagination. Waiting with baited breath for next books about him and the Outlander series itself.
In case anyone is interested and doesn't know already, there is a group on Facebook called The Lord John Grey Society. Please feel free to wander over and join us!

I don't know why I've never read the John Grey books - I just never really cared for John, actually until book 9. But from what I see, I am missing a lot of relevant info so I'm going to actually start them this week as I've just re-read MOBY for the second time.

Loved the Scottish Prisoner, helped fill in the years at Hell water and Williams early yrs..would have no understanding of that part of James life and his relationship with Lord John if I had not read it..

The Lord John Grey stories provide a lot of context that you don't otherwise get in the Big Enormous Books. The humor and additional information about the Grey family (and wee Tom Byrd) add additional dimensions to the Gabaldon canon. , and frequently have implications in the Jamie-Claire story lines.
