I have no children in any of these schools, but I seriously would rather my kids attended schools like Algonac or Almont and not Farmington or Farmington Hills. These kids from Almont and Algonac have struggled and become winning football teams in their divisions, but yet, instead of giving them some support, the naysayers are calling them rednecks. College teams do look at these kids and we should all be proud of what they have accomplished and not put them down by calling them names, and taking their accomplishments and stomping on them. I did not grow up in Algonac but I am raising my kids here I have lived here for 14 years and I am proud of my schools and proud of my swamp family. We have came so far as a community we are more than just a community we are family we come together as a family when our friends and family are in need matter what! It's been proven over the last few years. Our muskrat family is our hole town every one supports each other and everyone knows everyone. I couldn't be more proud of our muskrat family and our teams. I grew up in a big city and I moved out here 14 years ago. We are more than a community we are family. I'm so sick of the negativity these our are future and the best years of our kids lives. Coming from an Almont student, I am applauded by the comments I have seen regarding Friday night's game. Although one bad apple can make the whole bunch sour, I can assure you that not all of our students are so disrespectful and immature. Algonac and Almont have been privileged to be featured as part of this contest and should be grateful that both of our successful seasons have a chance to be documented by Channel 7. Almont should be giving props to Algonac on their successful season and should be gearing up for the big game with the Muskrats this week. This Friday will be a battle for both teams. Our players are being as humble as possible as they face the challenge ahead. I can assure that our players are not saying these nasty things that are appearing on this website. This is uncalled for almont kids obviously did this to our school and started all of this, Algona has works just as hard as we have this year so there is no need for any of this. No signs or community support in Algonac? That's why there are signs all over in people's yards that say "Welcome to the Swamp" "Algonac Muskrats" and many businesses as well as the city of Algonac and Clay Township have "Go Muskrats" on their signs.
