I am so impressed with your work, I suggest you repair it. You can always send to pearlcraft down the track if you wish. It is easy to remove, so you are not locked into an expensive option now.

I got a similar quote from Pearlcraft many years ago. Scared me into DIY. Due to time, I only partially completed the repair. It's waiting in the wings until I can get back to it.
There's a ton of of youtube steering wheel repair videos and companies making epoxy putties to enable you to do the job yourself.
