What should happen when a museum steals my copyrighted image and uses it for their own commercial and financial advantage?

Unfortunately, what should happen and what does happen to those who ignore copyright or any other rule, regulation or law, are often two different things. I wanted to answer your poll with, sue them for everything you can, but that's when lawyers (also questionable ethics) make the most money and you lose the most. Ethics and integrity are fast disappearing from our society, across the board, not only the arts. What happened to you should not happen to any artist, but I know this will continue. It is a shame.

This is so unfortunate and maddening. Yes, with the availability of web images that people and institutions are not ackowledgeing the artist of an imaging pulled from the web. An artist's work is more than just a photo or image taken from the internet . It holds the soul of the artist as well.

    Good Luck
