My trip in 2014 was a two week tour of the Highlands with CIE. It was wonderful, although it had nothing to do with Outlander. We started in Glasgow and traveled up the west coast to Oban, Iona, Portree, inveraray, Glencoe, Fort William, Ullapool, Durness, Thurso, the Orkney Islands, down to Inverness and Culloden, Fort George, on to Pitlochry, Perth, St. Andrews and Edinburgh. A side trip to Rosslyn Chapel finished the tour for me and my friend. . .I want to go back to see everything we missed. Scotland is beautiful and the people are wonderful.

My friends and I visited Scotland in July and it was a trip of a lifetime! We booked 3 days with Outlandish Journeys and it was perfect!! Steven Mcleish is the consumate guide and knows his Outlander! Not all of our group were fans and they loved the tour too!! I can't wait to return to Scotland in the next few years, and I will absolutely book with him again. He also does bespoke tours and is a genealogist'

Live in Highland Perthshire now but hail from Edinburgh. I may be biased but would encourage anyone to come visit. My personal recommendations would be Glen Affric, Glencoe and Culloden. ...but make sure you go to Culloden on a 'dreich' day (dull/cloudy/light rain) - so atmospheric and sad, sad, sad. It is not a place to go in brilliant sunshine.

Never been there but my father was born there. I would like to see it.

For my 60th birthday this past September, but husband gave me an Outlander tour through Inverness tours. We had a great guide and I loved every minute of it. What a beautiful country, great people and wonderful story. I would go back in a heart beat! Love everything Outlander. Read all 8 books, rereading book 1, watched the show a zillion times, know most of the dialogue by heart and learned how to drink Scotch!!!

My mother and I looked all over Scotland for Jamie Fraser in September 1993, just over 2 years after Outlander was published, but the closest we got was seeing a lorry driver wearing a kilt, descending from the cab of his truck along one of the highways.

I have visited Scotland recently for three weeks; however, it was not because of Outlander. I planned a Scotland in Regalia to see the country because it has been a dream of mine. My first trip to Europe and I am honored it was to this beautiful country. Scotland as we know was here first and a trip for 25 was planned and completed to perfection. Thank you to the BEST driver in the Scotland Brian Sykes and our Clans and Castle tour guide. I am privileged to return with my artists to the largest music festival in Scotland in January; the Celtic Connections for ten days. Slainte!!

My husband had been doing some consulting work in the Hull area of East Riding of Yorkshire, England, and I was able to travel to that area with him three times. After he completed his work, we would take 3 or 4 days and do some touring. I have traveled along the Wall, scoured the Lake District (looking for Helwater), searched out various standing stones (that are pretty obscure), spent time walking the Royal Mile, and hours at Holyrood (not just for Outlander, but I am very into Mary, Queen of Scots' history). Hope to go back visit friends in the Edinburgh, Sterling and Glasgow environs, and maybe some family research in Aberdeen sometime in the next couple years.

Scotland was my first trip abroad! After attending the fabulous Outlandish UK Gathering held in Crieff this past May, I remained in this gorgeous country for an additional 2 weeks. Beautiful people and breathtaking vistas. Let's just say, no matter where I live, my heart is in Scotland. Slainte!

Visited last in May 2015 to attend the UK Outlander Gathering in Crieff. We toured some filming locations, had great dinners with Scottish bands, surprise guest speakers

I went in '99, before I had a computer and long before the guided tours.
Planning my schedule was half the fun...scouring through library books and adding locations to my long list of must sees.
I thought I'd died and gone to heaven when I arrived in Edinburgh!
Walking the Royal Mile...imagining Claire and Jamie beside me...was amazing.
Touring Culloden moor was an experience that touched me deeply and one I'll never forget.
I hope to return one day but will be forever grateful that my first visit was such a wonderful journey to a land I fell in love with...through Diana's words...and continue to hold dear in my heart!

I have been to Scotland twice many years ago, visiting Edinburgh and Inverness, Culloden and other places. I had read the Gabaldon books then, taking notice of tombstones with familiar names.
I'd love to go there again, maybe next year, to see the locations where Outlander was filmed.;-)

My husband's grandfather was from Scotland. After he passed away we took our sons there as they adored their Poppa and wanted to see where he was from. We even visited the Isle of Skye where their great-great grandfather was from. It was our favourite place we visited. Lots of MacDonald history there and in beautiful Glencoe. We will be back the summer of 2017! Canna wait.

Visited several years ago on a private tour with a small group of friends. I would go back in a heartbeat, especially to see some of the Outlander locations. If I didn't live in the US, I would live in the Scottish Highlands. Love it all includinh haggis! :-)
