Is Dusty Baker the right man to manage the Nationals? Give reasons

I want to believe Dusty will do well. His overall history is winning and I think he'll motivate the team. But I watched the years he managed the Cubs very closely. And to be honest I was not a huge fan of in-game management. He bunts alot (which I do not think this roster is built for). And his bullpen management left a lot to be desired. Hopefully he adjusts and has other strong coaches around him.

He has a career winning percentage of .526% with loads of experience. Reminds me of Davey Johnson. Baker is great with pitchers which is good because we have a good amount of high end pitching prospects that Baker can work with. Great manager in the locker room, he's loved by his old players. And he knows a thing or two about hitting. Great job Rizzo.

Not yet, but he can be. The right manager, a modernized Davey Johnson with media savvy, wasn't on the market. Managing in the top quartile and generating wins is very challenging in baseball.

How he handles the personalities on this team will have a lot to do on how well this team does. Interesting dynamic with this team.

I am thoroughly disappointed in Rizzo's decision here. He was one of my fav GM's to wait for the moves he can and would make. This is a disaster. Baker needs to remain on his couch and the Nationals need another young, fiery manager. They should have given Cal Ripken Jr. A chance.
