Nearly all 35mm film cameras, which a lot of us oldies cut out teeth on, were supplied with a 50mm or 55mm kit lens. So you tend to be comfortable with that size. Now using a Nikon digital camera fitted with a variable length lens. I find that most of my shots are on or around the 50mm focal length give or take about 15% either way.

Based on the assumption that you are working on a full frame basis then 24mm would be around the 50mm equivalent which is a pretty versatile compromise

I've been shooting a lot with a Fuji XPro1 recently, with the 27mm "pancake" lens, (41mm equivalemt) . Having been brought ip on the standard 50mm focal length; , I like it al ot, and would go for41mm were it on your list.
