It is sad indeed that the Falcons may well not win again this season. I am beginning to wonder about those running the show at Flowery Branch. Today we had Freeman back and failed to use him, in my humble opinion, to his fullest capacity and therefore put the Falcons at a disadvantage to win the game. I think, the worst thing to happen to this team was to go 5-0 to start, it changed the expectations in this town that really had none this year where the Falcons were concerned. I believe and will always believe that, and let me preface my comment by saying I an a Falcons fan FIRST, and a Ryan or Devonta, or Roddy or Julio fan second, that the karma, or whatever you want to call it was destroyed by members of the media picking at the scab on Roddys ego until it bled, namely causing Roddy to speak to the Press about his lack of involvement in the offense. He met with DQ and then it was said in the press that "we will make a concerted effort to get Roddy more involved in the offense". The Fans didn't care about that as long as we kept seeing our Falcons win. Things have not been right since and will not be until next season, when I predict Roddy will either be traded or retire and possibly Shanahan will no longer be with this team. I do salute Roddy for all he has done for this team, and I am sorry for him, things did not turn out differently: He will be always remembered as a Great Falcon.
Matt has not played well in the last 6 games it is clear, and his decision making has been hampered by being under the gun. Yes he has thrown interceptions, yes Julio has dropped passes, Yes Ryan Schrader at times has been a revolving screen door to which Matt is always wondering when his head will be taken off next. Yes , the Offense has been the Achilles of this team, and the Defense has done more than we ever expected. Yes the "D" didn't get enough pressure on opposing QB"S, but I am not worried for one reason...I BELIEVE IN THE ATLANTA FALCONS & DAN QUIN! I know this team will be better than this next year and 3 years from now all of this will seem like a forgotten nightmare. Bottom Line, right now it is Killing me that this team , which looked so good, now in some ways looks worse than last year. But I am still a FAN, and Ever will be! The FALCONS will Fly High again!
