Mike We need more law abiding citizens Armed and able to defend themselves. The right to own firearms and other lethal weapons should be a responsibility. this needs to be taught in Classes that are mandatory
for every citizen in the nation. The only exception would be for mentally infirm and physically challenged citizens. .

We have enough ostriches w/ their head where they can't see anything.

Parents teach your children the correct way to play with play Guns. it is a sad thing to have young people killed because they are misusing their toy Gun.

ban gun free zones and there will be no soft targets.

First "what is soft target terrorism?"

Guns that are brought for self-defense are just that, along with concealed carry. It's to protect you from all criminals that intend to do you harm be it terrorist or a mugger.

I say, don't restrict gun, but pass a law like Sen. Rubio suggested, that would track anyone that is on the no fly list. Even though in this case it would not have helped. But we can't continue to do nothing and every few months another mass shooting happens. I count 4 this year.

Kevin J. Reidy you hit the nail on the head with that one. Why the hell should the beltway soup kitchen be making the decision who can buy a weapon and who can not. No body elected them. their damn appointees. political pigs always looking for there next public feeding.

All the gun laws we have now have not worked. The areas with the strictest regulations are the ones where most of the shootings take place so you don't need to be a genius to conclude that gun laws aren't the solution. Criminals and terrorists know there will be no defense against them in gun free areas.

    KJR nailed it.

    My sentiments exactly.

The goons in the White house want to do everything they can to dismantle a perfect constitution and a once perfect set of guidelines that would have kept us a sovereign nation for thousands and thousands of years.

I don't know about you but I'd like to be able to protect myself and my family if someone starts shooting at me or them!

Unless those on the no-fly list have been adjudicated in a court of law as felons, or are foreign nationals living in this country, (most of the names on the list are not those of U.S. citizens, they have no right to bear firearms to begin with in this country http://www.no-fly-list.com/) or have been publicly proven to be connected to terrorist organizations, or are shown to be disqualified from owning a firearm under the laws of the United States and not in secret by a three-letter agency that screws things up just as much as gets it right, anyone who is prevented from owning a firearm because their name is on a list that gives no verifiable reason why their name is on list to begin with and is a citizen of this nation, their rights are being violated under the 2nd and 4th Amendment.

It is a violation of due process, and there currently are lawsuits ongoing against the government filed by U.S. citizens to provide the reason why their right are being secretly and illegally abridged.

The list of names can be searched by anyone, but the reason why the name is on the list is redacted. Your name could be in the list because you have the wrong religion and your neighbor turned you in because he doesn't like you, no one really knows for sure.

I suppose many have no problem with other people getting their rights deprived without due process by governmental agencies, but I bet they sure would be pissed of it is *their* name was on one of those secret lists.

strickter gun control laws are needed. do we really need neighbourhoods with ak47's in the closets...

  • Al - 8 years ago

Enforce the current laws... Why do we see the same faces on the news and they have multiple gun violations.

  • Dan - 8 years ago

It's the criminals - stupid - not the law-abiding guns owners. Any restrictions will only hobble the law-abiding citizens and enable the criminals to continue to be criminals.
While I'm sick of paying for bed-and-board for a bunch of people who have disenfranchised the rights of the rest of us - they oughtta throw them in jail, throw away the key, and feed them bread and water. NO PLEA BARGAINING ALLOWED!!!
Oh, and ALL ILLEGAL aliens and intruders should be treated like ILLEGALS! They are breaking some of our laws by being here - but being cared for and coddled. Have their mother countries pay to take them back - we shouldn't have to foot that bill too. What's wrong with this picture?

2nd ammendment gives the right to US citizens to keep and bear arms for the purposes of maintaining a free state, it does not base the right on religion, that being said bar firearm sales to those that connected to islamic extremists, terrorist organizations and governments or businesses that support them, people that are not citizens should not be allowed to purchase firearms while in the US, if they come here on a hunting trip they should have to lawfully bring their own firearms and have them cleared by customs, naturalized citizens should have firearm privleges revoked if they travel to a foreign country linked to terrorism, basically if they are muslim, go somewhere overseas that raises a red flag or have relatives that raise a red flag, or are a naturalized citizen from a country that raises a red flag excercise common sense and don't sell them a gun...

For anyone that thinks the no-fly list is a good do some research. It does not mean they can not fly, it means they get searched more than others before they fly. I know a manager of a large company that is on it as is 100's of others with his name because one person with it "MAY" be a person of interest, etc. His last name is Miller with a very common first name too. Never been in a trouble, family be in rural area in Midwest US for a few hundred years, yet he has the same name as someone else and such will always be checked. Wish it was IF, but When the no fly list is added to the no buy list he will not only be banned from buying guns but will be forced to give up his guns and will lose his job as he works with a contractor a few times a year that uses explosives for his employer. How is that fair.

  • Jim - 8 years ago

It's a proven fact, gun laws don't reduce crime with guns or without guns, proven by all the countries that have banned gun sales. California has some of the strictest gun laws in the country. Why would you sell someone a gun that is on the no fly list anyway! Their letting these people come into the country and then blaming guns instead of the laws that let them in in the first place!

Enforce the laws we already have.
