The statement he made regarding Muslims was inappropriate, point blank. I understand the need for people to defend themselves. That's vital. I don't think anyone can disagree with that. However, Mr. Falwell's statements betray an irrational fear against a specific group. Haven't recent events shown us that terrorists can come of any color or religion, even white Christians?
Had Mr. Falwell's statement gone something like "We need to defend ourselves from terrorists, no matter what religion or background they are from," I'd have no issue with it.

Tex Sink is correct, Mr Falwell's comments was about protecting the lives of the students at Liberty, not about hate for anyone. The fact that Liberty is a Christian Based School and that Christian Based Facilities are targets of attacks speaks for his reasoning. In Israel nearly everyone carries a weapon for this excite reason.

I am a NRA Training Counselor and agree 100 per cent with Jerry Falwell. It's time we take responsibility for our own safety.
