What do you think? Should IPFW separate into two distinct campus operations with Purdue University being the sole governing entity?

The numbers need to be evaluated properly. If comparing the numbers with other institutions with the IU name, IPFW is performing better than all. The confounding factors are not being considered and the study was biased. By eliminating IU from IPFW, Northeast Indiana will lose many of it's best and brightest, and even jobs. Many of the programs will be stuck in limbo, such as the music program which Purdue does not offer, and most of our international student programs will disappear. We have one of the best International Student programs in the region. We are a diverse school, with diverse, hard working people. Some of you may say, "get your degree and continue on since you are grandfathered in," but that isn't right. I'm not just selfishly worried about myself or my current fellow students, but the students of the future who are behind me, and even not born yet. This is not just about now, but the future. Currently Indiana is losing it's best and brightest to other states, bigger schools, and to places where jobs can be found. By doing this, we will drive those who would have stayed in Northeast Indiana out. This is a major mistake, and it is bad news for the current IPFW student's and the future. Please, you have a voice. Reach out, use it, and oppose this measure not just for the current IPFW students but for the sake of Northeast Indiana as a whole.

Art degrees would remain. But there would be other problems which would weaken the university and really harm NE Indiana. Loss of revenue, and serious decrease in enrollment. Nursing program would be much worse under this plan because it would be remarkably difficult for those students to get second degrees (like in psychology or foreign language) because they would have to enroll in two universities. These students will not get minors, financial aid would be a challenge. I would also argue that the nursing education would largely be online, not the best of scenarios.

I do not think Purdue could manage this and I think if given control, as money tightens, this Northwest campus would close/suffer. Keep it as it is this is a bad idea. I did not see any mention of the Arts degrees being saved.
