It was intentional, you can see as he hit him his head was up and he pushed off with his hands. If he would have saw him at the last minute and it was accidental he had time to bear hug him and stop the hit.
No excuse for what he did. Should be suspended, no respect shown for this official at all. Throw the book at him

Wideman is a liar and a hack. Get him off the ice. Send him back to the minors where he belongs. If he would have just shut his mouth and got ten games it would be over. Goon.
