Sorry doctor, but HMOs were created during Nixon's regime. Funny that a MD would blame the government for high healthcare costs that are actually the fault of the healthcare industry. Healthcare providers don't want real healthcare reform, because it would decrease the windfall many of them make. How is Congress to blame for a company overcharging for medicine? Sounds like greed by a private company.
Seems like it would be cheaper if the VA bought the company and provided the drugs at cost to the vets, then sold to everyone else at a modest profit.

When Clintons came they introduced HMO. Obama became president and introduced (un)affordable health care. USA spends the highest amount in the entire universe for health care (1.8 TRILLION DOLLARS) each year. But we are not in the top ten countries providing the best health care.
We keep electing our senators and congressmen who have no clue about health care. We can ask the Candiians to take over our health care and psy them 1.8 Trillion dollars. They may do a better job than what we are getting now. I bet no one will want to run for presidency, congress or senate.

It is the fault of congress that any U.S. citizen has to pay such high costs for drugs.
