The sad thing is, if the staff at Newtown would have been armed, we might have never heard of it. Just like all gun free zones are killing fields, and the most dangerous places to be.

As expected, The article is biased with only anti comments, yet the voting shows a majority for it. Liberal Media showing their true nature!

Why would arming teachers in one community in a Gun Free municipality be alright and then continuing to restrict law abiding gun owners from arming themselves for safety??

Sounds like a good idea. My concern would be the wrong teachers gets hired and has the right to carry a fire arm. You really just don't know someone no matter how clean they check out. For instance a teacher that dates a child was hired. Read between the lines

Nancy and John: What would you consider "EXTENSIVE" training, anyway? I wonder if cops and security guards get training that you would consider "EXTENSIVE". My guess is that you vastly over-estimate what is adequate firearms training in reality.

It is a sad society we live in that this subject needs consideration but the teachers are responsible to protect our kids and what means do they have to do it in drastic situations? I would support arming our teachers, but as the previous post states, only with EXENSIVE training.

Would support ONLY if the teachers received EXTENSIVE small arms training!
