Misty, people can be who they want to be. But why are these people forcing these things down our throat. Do Transgender people really want their own bathroom. I am sure if there were bathrooms that said Transgender on the door it would be discrimination. These people along with gays and lesbians want it both ways and that is nor right.

There is something funny about this poll. Just look at the other poll results on this site that are still posted. The average is 700 to 1000 votes total. Yesterday there were 75 % against this issue. Today the yes vote grows by over 700. I think people are voting multiple times.

I think this is good .I do not get anything special for being straight.I really like to see gay marriage be taken down.I had to vote not just once but twice to vote down the gay marriage law But the Governor who was a democrat did not listen to the people push it through the third time and now its law and yes I voted No the third time.in away this is like politicians we have straight people we have gay people and we have bisexual we have republicans we have democrats and also independents .I think the bisexual and independents are just greedy they like it both ways I think God made everyone male or female and its the times we are in what was wrong is now right and right is now wrong.

Rain prattle, all people already have protections. If you hit a straight white man because you don't like the way he looked at you and you hit a gay person in both cases you have committed assault. Prosecute the assault. Hate crimes and special categories make one person of more value than another. Forcing people to accept things is not freedom. As a Christian i treat everyone as I want to be treated. I also honor the creator by acknowledging he made us purposefully and do not accept the idea that we can do whatever we please. I do not force my view on anyone, why are people trying to legally force theirs on me?

I think its sad that these people arent better protected. Its a shame really. This is NOT the same thing as a boy just wanting to see girls naked. Get your head out of the gutter. Its about wanting to be the person you truly feel you are and to minimize that and to degrade that I think is just disgusting. These kids are just like you and me. They just desperately want to be themselves. They are NOT perverts who just want a look! It disgust me how close minded I have seen the ppl of Maine be in my lifetime. Its just ridiculous. You should be ashamed for not loving your fellow man and protecting their safety. instead you would probably rather have a lynch mob and go hang anyone whose different. way to wear your bigotry folks. This whole thing is ridiculous. If you have a penis your a male a vagina your a female. Period. What these people should be called is its. It is not normal and I find them offensive. They want special treatment because they are confused. What law is protecting me from them? At some point a straight white male will be a minority. Then maybe we will be protected.

Sean, I agree with you every time we turn around we are making a law or a rule for someone, hey I have a good concept load up all the LGBT on a boat with all the immigrants' and push it out to sea oh and put a small hole in the side first, its time we stand up for our rights also it is getting out of hand it needs to STOP. I don't feel its right if a male in school wants to dress like a female & use female bathrooms or anything else that obtains to female use and vise versa with females the fact remains they are not that gender ! why should it be allowed!!!!schools have dress codes & this should be one of them!!! how many females want a male in their rest room knowing a male is there only to dress up like a female!!! don't know what this world is coming to! honestly !!! they shouldn't be treated any different then any other student staff turns their heads to bullies ! you see & and hear it time & time again !!! so many kids out there taken their own life yet we should have laws to protect gender of sort don't think so !!!

Almost every question on this site is do you think we need a new rule or law for this or that. There are around 40,000 new laws and ordinances passed across the country yearly. Its getting to the point that anyone can be charged with something at anytime if someone really wants to put you away. That is the first step to a totalitarian society. Of course every restriction is for the good and safety of the people.
