What do you think about using dog DNA testing to catch poop violations?

We have to many people who don't pick up after their dog(s). Why would be against this if you do pick up after your dog---what do you need to worry about. I have seen the look, the dog poops, the person looks around, even with bag in hand, no buddy is around, they cover it up sometimes and keeps on walking. They usually have the dog poop in the same place every morning. I see this. At our condos, the person has to get a picture of the person and their dog, know their name and dog's name and submit it to the office. We have 426 units in our development!!!!! I think (DNA testing) is a great idea because I have stepped in dog poop and brought it in on my new carpet that I had just put down. You have to feed the dog, so pick up the poop too. Many people at our development do not register their dog(s) or get their license for the dog, not to say their yearly shots. What an irresponsible dog(s) owner.

I am a licensed CAM who manages a 200 unit Condominium in South Florida and we have used Dog DNA for the past 3 years. Yes, it's a pain to make sure every dog is registered, however it cut down tremendously the amount of dog poop that was all over the lawn. No one wants to step in dog poop, not to mention the landscaper's mowing over it , and well. it was just disgusting. The test results are very accurate and we fine the people $100, plus the cost of the test, so it is significant. Since people don't pick up after their pets, this is the only want to monitor it...and it does work!

It goes too far unless you are the one stepping in it. If people would be responsible it wouldn't be an issue, but some are not and they cause this to happen and are probably the ones complaining about it.
