Death penalty. That will stop them dead in their tracks. No repeat offenders that way. Plus castrating does not cure their sick brain. They would likely hurt someone again.

I agree eye for an eye. Maybe some much needed change will come in the world if everyone's held accountable.
It should be anyone under 18 & the decision shouldn't be yours or anyone elses, it should be up to the victims.
Its not cruel or unusual punishment at all considering what they've taken from the children they abuse.Personally I think death is more fitting. Child sexual abuse by adults is rampant just look up familywatchdog.com and put in your zip code..I dare you The laws they have now nationwide are puny of no consequence & are obviously not enough to keep offenders from ruining these children's lives & costing tax payers money. This will definitely cut down on the crimes & why would any decent human being care about such vile scum anyways, to hell with them, I side with the kids.

Need to cut fingers off thieves and murders and repeat drug dealers should be castrated also because they sell to underage kids and have sex with them. Public officials should have their tongues removed when they are caught lying/corruption.
Females sex offenders also should have their clit removed. Drunk drivers should have their feet removed because they could kill innocent children/families.
Becoming a sex offender is the easiest way to become a criminal because you have to prove your innocents, as per Dr.Phil and facts.
But if you imprison someone then they have been punished. If you want to cut there nuts off they no Prison time as that is a form of double jeopardy.

Just as I said: Katie and Stevie pathetic, ignorant, and unable to support their argument with facts and data.

This would be considered as "cruel and unusual punishment" which is illegal in the U.S.. If lawmakers value our constitution, this won't pass. (The 8th amendment)

What the two commenters before me fail to understand is this:

Katie: The number of those who repeat these offenses "over and over" are less than 1% of all those convicted of sex crimes

Steve: The number of those who commit sex crimes against those under 16 and over 12 is approximately 90% of those convicted of sex crimes. Of that 90% about 60% percent are minors themselves. Of the remaining 30% about 25% have NO VICTIM at all...They touched no one, abused no one, and never have/never would.

Do you understand that? NO VICTIM.They are persons manipulated by the system.

How about this FACT you are ignoring:

10 years after being convicted of a sex the likelihood of committing another sex crime is EXACTLY THE SAME RATE (read this again: EXACTLY the same rate) as someone (you and Katie) who had never committed a crime.

So...to you and the ignorant law makers of Alabama: facts do NOT support any of your scare tactics.

I issue you a challenge: comment here with cited data, research and statistics supporting your punishment and registration argument and I. In turn, will reply with FIVE research reports to every ONE of your reports proving you wrong.

I'm telling you now...you will not find one true source to support your claims. Not one.

    Go!

Defecting the "tool" doesn't take the mental desire and sick will away...what I don't understand is why does the prison system let the ones out who repeat the offense over and over. They lack them up often times for a short period of time then release them to do the same thing and return months later (if that long) for harming someone else. Then there are those that are sitting in prison charged with a sex crime who aren't truly guilty (yes that happens). I personally don't think this is a good fix for the problem.

Why 12 and younger? Needs to be older than that like under 16.
