Do you think mouthing the slogan “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” is a measure of patriotism? is NOT the right way of asking the question. Many will answer No if you ask this way.

Try and frame the question in a different way.so that you will get the answers right, unless you really want the answers to be this way.

    Try asking this way
Do you consider a person to be patriot who has problem or who hesitate or reluctant to say Bharat mata ki Jai.?

Saying Bharat Mata ki Jai may not be the measure of Patriotism.
But Not saying it or having problem in saying it is definitely something one should really doubt on.

I Doubt each and every individual's intentions, character and their attitude towards nation who has a problem in saying Bharat mata ki Jai.

    Jai Hind.

Hi Newslaundry - If patriotism is a feeling, an emotion of love for your motherland than "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" is an expression. And expressions are test of your emotions. If we are in constant pressure to say I love U to our loved ones to show our love or for that matter to pass the test of love then Patriotism needs an expression "BHarat Mata KI JAi".

I think this is the worst poll ever conducted on Newslaundry website. I am seriously disappointed that almost all news channels are trying to oversimplify the complex situation where some people are opposed to chanting slogans for the country. It does not matter if you chant "Vande Matara" or "Bharat mata ki Jai" or "Hindustan Zindabad" or any other pro-India slogan, what matters is whether the country comes first before religion, caste, class or whatever. I'm going to watch for a few more weeks and if Newslaundry continues to keep its biased and opinionated reporting than I along with all my friends (who seem to agree with me on this issue) would pull out of Newslaundry.

"Jai Bharat" and "Bharat ki Jai" are appropriate. In pre-partition and pre-independence days "Jai Hind" was appropriate. At that time "Hind" referred to undivided country. It has become three countries or nations. Now to say "Jai Hind" is a misnomer. "Jai Bharat" and "Bharat ki Jai" will serve our purpose.
