He doesn't kill Carl and he doesn't kill Rick. In the comic book he kills Glenn. But maybe just maybe they did a Star Trek thing where the odd man out gets killed which would be Arron. I'm thinking they can't kill Daryl cause to many people would quit the show.

Y'all, they couldn't have killed Carl. Not only did Negan say "if anyone tries to stop me we'll cut his other eye out" (paraphrasing) but in the comics Carl becomes a leader. They aren't going to kill him.
