I am disappointed with the negative reviews done by the author! I believe that it is an outstanding compilation, with soothing and meaningful background musics and effects. Quoting her review now,
"1. Ram : Gurmeet Chaudhary, however, was always over the top at everything he did. Always super angry, super romantic or super gentle, if that is even possible for anyone to be." I would rate it as a success, for Ramanyana is not a auto-biography of a legendary human like Gandhi etc, but something bigger than that. If the actor and producer manage to get out unearthly expressions for him, this is an achievement!
"2. Sita : She would make the most forced faces like the one above and do things like talk while smiling through her teeth even when the scene called for a normal conversation." It is your belief that she is making a forced face, and I would let the directors decide what the scene calls for. And I felt that wearing expression on the face makes her look an extra-ordinary personality.
"3. Ravana : He is a great actor, no doubt and also pretty scary. But the shoddy job done by the series could not be saved even with Mishra on their side." This shows how much biased your opinion towards the show is, which is a shoddy job for a journalist. And personally, I would rate the Siya Ke Ram's "Ravana" very low, because fear is visible in his eyes! This guy looks more like a innocent rishi than a lusty Ravana.
"4. Hanuman : He was not very big, which we could have overlooked had he been funny." What did I just read! You are searching for humour through Lord Hanuman! Are you comparing this series to the street-side ramleela where little children dress up as vanar-sena! "Bal buddhi vidya dehu mohi, harhu kalesh vikaar" - hey Lord, please bless me with strength, wisdom and knowledge and take all my conflicts and defects. I hope you had some background towards the Ramayana epic before writing this article.
"5. Setup and costumes: ...and nothing about their make-up was natural" The setup and all should give us the out-of-the-world feelings. If they had shot the scenes in a natural environment, then it would not have seemed extra-ordinary. I can even feel a bit of jealousy in this statement of yours.
Enough for the day! All the three stages are beautiful! "Miserable attempt" is not the right way to describe the 2008 version.

Ramayana 1986.... is the best of all others..now a days so many types of Ramayanas are there (in the sense of production) any other Ramayana can not overtake THE RAMANAND SAGARS RAMAYANA. Never. As far as the votes are concerned., votes are only casted by those persons who are active on internet... if you ever do a survey based on the popularity of serial (ramayana) you willl find that around 93 to 95 percentage of viewers like RAMAYANA 1986..
Ramayana 1986 is also most viewed serial in the world. The songs (bhajans) of Sh. Ravindra jain. That make this serial more beautiful.
The work of Sh.Arun govil. Dara singh.etc is very appreciating..

Star plus serials are using high - advanced technology , more beautiful
sets , costumes , jewellery etc etc . But they do not understand that
the story they are showing is not some fantasy story or story written by
their writers in which they can do whatever changes they want .
Ramayana or Mahabharata are two most ancient epics of India . They have
forgotten that these epics are not director's property . Even the minor
changes in original story are totally unacceptable and intolerable . No
directors can beat the serial - Ramayana by Ramanand sagar ( 1986 ) .
Even though that serial don't have any advanced technology compared to
today , it is still much much better than any of Ramayna after that .
Because director of that serial give importance to having accurate cast
for the characters , their acting and they had enough wisdom that they
didn't change the original story a bit . This was the secret of the
success of that serial . Today's directors think that now they have
high technology , special effects and spectacular sets things like
perfect casting , acting and accurate story doesn't matter . Audience
will just adore whatever nonsense things they will show .
I love Mythological serials very much . But unfortunately the only good mythological serials made in India in past 500 years are : Mahabharat by B R Chopra , Ramayana by Ramanand Sagar , Shrikrishna by Ramanand Sagar , Sai baba by Ramanand Sagar and finally Devon ke Dev Mahadev which was outstanding , until Sonarika left ( I quit watching after that ) .
The character playing sita in Siya ke Ram is indeed very beautiful but looks like only a TV actress and nowhere near an incarnation of Lakshmi. lack of maturity , lack of soberness . Same with Ram . They both are nowhere near Arun Govil and Deepika Chikhlia

I like the character of sita because madirakshi played superb role. madirakshi expressions awesome in siya ke ram and ashish also. karthik as Ravan lived in lankesh role superb ..... and lastly I just want to meet the entire team of SIYA KE RAM ... Many have forgotten the Ramayan by the Sagar group telecast in Zee TV in 2012.
There was also a Ramayan from the BR Chopra house telecast in 2002, wherein Nitish Bharadwaj played Rama.
Please put up a comparison including these 2 as well. Of course there have been 2-3 serials based on Hanuman as well, as well as the Rama Avatar part in Chopra's Vishnu Puran.

Baki Ramayana Jo 1986 ke baad me banayi gayi hai , WO sab milkar bhi 1986 ki ramayan ka 1000 va ansh bhi nhai ho sakti.yes agar log ise ek entertainment serial ki tarah dekhe to phir koi bhi kuch bhi khi ja sakti hai . lekin agar hum ise humari sanskarti aur sharada ki nazar se dekhe to hum payenge ki new serials me kafi mistakes hai , na hi charachets hi thik se select kiye gaye hai . jab ramayan dekhi or suni jaye to ek sacche hindu ka man aseem sukh ko paye , santi mile,aanko me bhagvad prem ke aansoo ho,aur ye sab 1986 ramayan me bhout hi saganta se bhara hai . aur mere jin dosto ko ramayan ka ghara gayan hai ki . 1986 ramayan was amazing wonderful ,it was just made.jai shri ram

By calling ndtv ramayana a "miserable attempt" you have proved you never even watched the show! No true Ram bhakt can hate it, it is everything perfect and devotional and gurmeet debina are the best RAM SITA of indian telly. Even today they are called the real to reel like Ram Sita. Ashish Madirakshi are cute but no where close to Gurmeet debina!

Gurmeet Choudhary and Debina Bonnerjee are the best Ram Sita! This writer is out of her mind, don't think she ever watched ndtv ramayan! It was not popular for no reason. All my college hostel mates loved it. We used to spend every evening watching it. Still watch clips of the show everyday.

All three Ramayans mentioned are good, don't understand why writer has taken such a negative approach to the 2008 Ramayan which is a fond memory of my family and a personal favorite. Also loved the original Ramayan of Arun Govil and Deepika. That Ramayan will remain the best no matter what the day and age. Gurmeet Choudhary and Debina were also one of the best Ram sita of television.
Ashish and Madirakshi are good but Siya Ke Ram has many mistakes. It's quite modern so youth will like it, but previous generations have a hard time connecting with it. My parents and grandparents prefer the previous two Ramayans.

Siye Ke Ram is the best.The first one in 1986 due to poor technology and old Ram we have nothing to comment.The second one 2008 Gurmeet only saved the show otherwise all the other cast were super pathetic and overboard .Ashish and Mandirakshi the best Ram and Sita including the rest of the cast.
