Is Cadillac Canceling The CT8 A Smart Move?

I did not realize that Cadillac dropped the CT8 from it's production plans. Last year I stepped up from the E Class to the S Class because I want a large sedan and could not find a domestic that fits the bill. Not all of us want an SUV. My S class fits in the garage and I don't have any obstructed view when maneuvering around a parking lot. For a guy like me that rides usually rides alone or with just one other person in the car an Escalade or other SUV just doesn't make sense. The domestic market has left folks like me behind, I was looking forward to having a real land yacht in my driveway.

I currently own an ATS and a CTS and love Cadillac. But apparently they are kind of confuse about what they really want to be. Too many experiments and rumors are not good at all for the brand. If they want to compete in a global market with other luxury brands, they desperately need:
    1. An ultra luxury sedan to kill the S Class
    2. A halo sport car to attract the market attention (Audi R8, Acura NSX, Mercedes AMG GT S, BMW I8, etc.) I know those are not high volume sales vehicles, but is a very important part of the image for a luxury brand.
    3. A XT3 (for quicker response to the market based on the Buick Encore) small suv.
    4. A XT4 (same as above, use the Buick Envision platform) medium size suv.
I think if they do this, they will truly be competing in the current market, otherwise, they will crying soon.
Go Cadillac, go America, we can do this!!!

I have been a true Cadillac lady since the 70's. I now own a 2008 DTS and I love it because it is BIG. I was so excited to see the 2016 CT6 come out because I was led to believe it was the bigger car coming back. When i found out it was not as big as mine, I was more than disappointed. Then I heard about the possible CT8 and was so excited until I read that you have changed your minds and are not going to make it. I guess my Cadillac days are over and I will start looking for a big car somewhere else....maybe the Mercedes.....shame on you all. Contrary to what some people say, there are many, many of us who prefer the big cars and will not be buying the CT6........
