There is only one actor that can play Adam Newman and that actor is Michael Muhney. I am sure Justin Hartley is doing the best he can but he had really big shoes to fill. I watched Justin when he was on Mistresses and wasn’t a fan, was really happy when his character left the show. Michael Muhney gave the role of Adam Newman such dimension, even when he was evil you just wanted to give him a hug. He tore at your heartstrings and made you root for him even when you shouldn’t have. In my opinion he made the part his own and when he left I felt that Adam Newman left as well.

I loved MM he was Adam Newman Victor's son thru and thru. I like Justin he's nice, but old Adam storyline was awesome.

Michael M was better, but honestly, I like looking at Justin and I think he's done a good job thus far. Either one is good as far as I'm concerned. I just wish they would finish the Sage/Sharon/Sully/Dylan/Nick/Adam/Chrstian storyline already.
MM has the personality, the eyes the crocked smile. He most assured is and was the Adam Newman and all ways will be as far as I am concerned. Love MM

Michael made Adam, he will ALWAYS be the ONLY one to play him perfectly just as Billy Miller did with Billy Abbott hands down Micheal Muhney will always be the best actor to play Adam Newman..but just like BM TPTB messed that all up like the show, miss the REAL Y&R from few years ago great acting and great storylines.. Now..not so much..and for Pete's sake PLEASE stop shoving no acting whiny face Summer down our throats! Kill her and evil boy Max off, more Mariah and Kevin

Michael was a natural, his eyes and gestures was all you needed and you knew right away shit was about to hit the fan. Justin is a toned down Adam, but I do like him. I just can't imagine him pulling off some of thone intense scenes as Michael. Michael's version of Adam could go toe-to-toe with Victor and could get under his skin. Justin's version right now is Victor's and Chelsea's hand puppet. Old Adam would have chewed Victoria up by now and spit her ass out of the company by now.

Michael was the ultimate Adam Newman. I miss him so much.
I loved Michael, he made Adam. He played with a different level of intensity than Justin. But I do like Justin too. The sex appeal...wow. Lol I like them both but Michael is the favorite hands down.

MIchael Muhney hands down MADE Adam.. He played him with such passion that you felt it through your TV.. What Sony, CBS & Y&R did to him was absolutely a shame. On the other hand, IF we had to accept a new Adam, Justin Hartley is amazing in his own right. I know they needed to redeem the character But I would like to see what he's got when given juicer stuff!
Loved Micheal mulhney. He was good feel dark. But Justin baby is an hunk of man.

I think all you wrote is true but Justin doesn't have the intense facial expressions and body language MM has, so to me when they cast Justin they had already decided he would be a kinder Adam. I think he does a great job playing the changed character he plays. I wish MM was still on, but that's not really fair to Justin.
