I was in my bookstore a few years back (20 -25 years ago) looking for a good long book to read. I picked up Outlander and leafed through. I liked the way it read, and the story line, bought it, and couldn't put it down. Luckily, additional books were written by the time I had finished, and DG had a faithful fan. The TV series has crystallized the mind images of the books very vividly. I want more (Moore).

My daughter-in-law told me about Outlander a few years ago. When she mentioned time-travel I didn't think I would like it. The fact that it was a huge book also didn't appeal to me. I gave it a try and was hooked after a few pages. I read everything I could find connected to this series. I think I became an even bigger fan than my daughter-in-law!

Looking for book to take on vacation ( I was in romance section/early '90's), wanted a big one to last a week. After vacation back to book store to get sequel. Couldn't remember author's name. Told clerk, " fattest book you had in this section". He took me to where Diana's new book ( Dragon Fly in Amber) along with Outlander were being displayed ( front of store). I'd been so focused on getting to section Id found it week before I didn't notice anything when I walked through the store.
