I do not want Sonny having Avery at all. Not only he's violent he is also sneaky and does tricks to people. Like his wheelchair thing and in my mind he betrayed Anna while working together by leaving her high and dry in that plane. She helped him with getting Carlos and he could've helped her there. So I think Ava is the better parent here because of that. At least Ava does not do that to people like Sonny. And I do really think there is a real possibility that Morgan is Avery's father not Sonny. Sonny should not have what's not his in the first place I think.
