    they didn't explain how they made her mane like that
    its logic

    Hair bumps are absolute trash. The new mane is the only thing that makes her bearable as a character. Otherwise, she's nice, but the hair bump just made her seem like a villain and a bitch.

    Habbo 'fro.

    I prefer the old mane, hands down. The new one looks like a slightly modified recolor of Sunset Shimmer's mane (which doesn't do any favors to making Starlight seem like anything other than Sunset Shimmer 2.0).
    The old mane was distinctive and unique; it was *Starlight's* mane... now she just feels... generic. And generic is the absolute last thing you want a new central character to be when you introduce them in a show that's been running for over five seasons.

    Old mane 5ever, because is more than 4ever.

    I actually never realized that Starlight's hair changed until now.

    New mane feels like a top-heavy Rarity mane. Not a fan, would like old mane back.

    PS: To Badly Drawn Turtle, the last part was my overall opinion for the poll and not for you. Just had to clarify that. And your reply, which wasn't even needed as it, doesn't even make any sense to what I said.

    Badly Drawn Turtle, you can and you just chose not to see it. With ponies that have fringes it's determined by the back/halfway, the rest are determined by the entire mane. Ponies like Rarity, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Starlight Glimmer have the kind of style where it HAS to visually grow out center. It's just how it is whereas it IS a mistake in Star light Glimmer's case. What you say makes absolutely no sense in this situation.

    I voted old. Looks like I'm in the minority...

  • Kooli - 8 years ago

    Scalped wasn't an option so I didn't vote.

    @tassi
    “because if a pony has a fringe you can't even see if it grows in center and have to determine it in a different ange or by the back mane.”
    Where you admit you cannot know whether or not it grows from the center by how it is drawn.

    “Mane styles like Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and now Starlight's new is a style you can see if it's center grown by first look, it's that obvious.”
    Where you point out that some styles seen in the show are clearly grown from the center.

    “If a mane like that isn't grown in center it just looks utterly stupid.”
    Where you contradict your first claim by declaring that you do know whether or not it grows from the center (by denying the possibility), likely by leveraging the second claim and the logically absurd idea that ‘if it isn't obviously true, it must be false’.

    “As for now I'd say her old mane is best, if or when the fix Starlight's new mane mistake it would be the new.”
    Where you show that you don't know which mane is which anyway.

    @Carrie
    “It doesn't follow the center line up front, so the anatomy is wrong.”
    I directly addressed that in my last comment. I wonder if these two problems are connected…

  • Korora - 8 years ago

    There's no "Who gives a sulat?" option.

  • Trev - 8 years ago

    Actually, you're right in a way. I mean bad hair conditions are more real than unicorns, the latter only exist in fiction. But only if that means Starlight has a hair condition, in her case a sidelined growth. It must be embarrassing for her if she had her mane go the other way, she's feel bald for sure.

    But with that said, already existing anatomy should be drawn right (unless they have a condition). Horns are additional, not mistakes.

  • tassi - 8 years ago

    No Badly Drawn Turtle, because if a pony has a fringe you can't even see if it grows in center and have to determine it in a different ange or by the back mane. Mane styles like Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and now Starlight's new is a style you can see if it's center grown by first look, it's that obvious. If a mane like that isn't grown in center it just looks utterly stupid.

    As for now I'd say her old mane is best, if or when the fix Starlight's new mane mistake it would be the new.

  • Carrie - 8 years ago

    @Badly Drawn Turtle: It's not the shape. It doesn't follow the center line up front, so the anatomy is wrong. I don't understand how some people are unable to see that. It's even fixed in fanart quite often, so many people actually notice how it's wrong.

  • Mikkelib97 - 8 years ago

    I did notice something was different about Starlights look.
    I just didn`t " notice " the new mane cut.

  • HalflingPony - 8 years ago

    This needs a "She has a new mane?" option.

  • Badly Drawn Turtle - 8 years ago

    @John Fischer
    That would be her old mane. Her new one is very clearly center-aligned.

    I like her old one better. It gave her a more distinctive look.

    @Carrie
    I don't see how it's ‘obviously wrong anatomy’. So it's shaped a little funky; it could still be coming from a center strip. If you see something odd in a story, try to find ways it could work, not ways it can't; otherwise you won't find anything enjoyable.

  • John Fischer - 8 years ago

    Her new mane looks like it's growing out of her head to the right or left of her horn and it is extremely distracting. Is this intentional?

  • TitaniaErzaPony - 8 years ago

    To me, Starlight Glimmer's Old Mane is modeled after Sango's hairstyle in her demon slayer outfit.

  • lordelliott - 8 years ago

    I didn't like the new one at first, but it grew on me. Now I'm indifferent between the two.

  • NamelessNP - 8 years ago

    Yes, because there's no such thing as a unicorn. And therefore the real world doesn't need apply 100% accurately.

  • Trev - 8 years ago

    They're unicorns, the horns aren't anatomical mistakes.

  • NamelessNP - 8 years ago

    If the hair is your biggest anatomical concern on a pony with a horn growing out of its head, you're doing it wrong.

  • Toonzami - 8 years ago

    Both of them look cute but I like the old one just a little bit better

  • Carrie - 8 years ago

    @Frith: Cyndi Lauper is human, not a pony. Human hair doesn't grow center lined.

  • Frith - 8 years ago

    Carrie, I didn't say I liked it, I just said I preferred it over the old bun-do. Anyway, it looks like something Cyndi Lauper would do with her hair.

  • Carrie - 8 years ago

    So people like her mane drawn in an obviously wrong anatomy?

    ...I've lost faith in this fandom.

  • J3356 - 8 years ago

    I guess the new one even though i'm indifferent to the change.
