Austin... The city with worst transportation alternatives. In the next election dispacth the city council and mayor. Lost my job for your action. For me the city lose.

10/10 taxi is now operating in Austin and it's $10 flare for the first 5 miles and $2 for each mile after that. But some of the drivers might give you a break on the $2 a mile after 5 miles and they have an app you can download called Ztrip to order a taxi.

Can't go to physical therapy now. I can't afford a taxi to take me to the doctor every time. I get less sessions now, by scrambling to get someone to get me a ride. There is no bus stop, metro or any other public transport near the place I need to go. I walk sometimes there, it takes an hour back and forth. Last time I arrived almost dehydrated because of the sun.

We were staying near the airport to go to the Untapped festival which was cancelled. Used a cab to get there and it was terrible. We checked out of the hotel and went home since there was no easy way to get around Austin. Used Uber in Round Rock though and had dinner and drinks there instead

Uber was not only my way around but also my way to work everyday because yellowcab taxes out the ***, and to get to work on time via bus I have to get on a bus two hours before my shift. It sucks !!!

My wife and my friend tried to take GetMe, but they never sent cars, despite charging my wife $25 and my friend $75. Looks like it might not be so easy to replicate the Uber/Lyft experience.

    Drove when I shouldn't have.

I gave all of the above a try. I even drove when I probably should not have.

Why is there not an option that says "I drove under the influence"?? This should be a legitimate option. I myself did not, but I know a few people that did.

We had friends over for dinner instead of our usual weekend dinner outing. Would be nice if Council would fix this...Prop 1 is over, but the crappy policy that started this all is still here. Let's fix it please

Like many of my friends, I am concerned about how I will get around on evenings I wish to have a drink, not have to deal with parking or valets and even get to meet new people - the drivers - who often have great conversation.

Pretty sure either the cab companies. Dui attorney. Or the get me app brided the council to address a problem that isn't a proble. Where tens of thousands of adults voted with their time and money to use the service. Those that didn't like it were always free to make their own decision.

Clearly the council got bribed by someone to solve a none existent problem

Then say the voters voted. When turnout was a joke and placed in the worst time and written in a way to intentionally confuse the voters

This council is less then a zero. They are sub zero losers

Austin is a joke. The city council is worse then a joke

    Getting around sucked

    Parking is hard and expensive.

Moving from the east side to go see a band on 6th sucked

    Life is worse for sure.

If an uber driver was a rapist. They were still in the community. Not being tracked. Not working and bored.

So now we can't get around and any hupyhetical predator that was working is now free to go be a predator

This city council is a joke

Businesses across town suffered from not having Uber/Lyft available. Several of my friends used Uber/Lyft on Friday and Saturday nights to come into town (they live in the burbs) for dinner and drinks.
None of them went out this weekend. They all stayed at home. No bueno.

Brilliant cab ride. Love it. Only retardet idiots can be depend on Uber. All these comments about how our life gets screwed, fully bullshit.

Ummm...how about the option where people who drove that shouldn't have or were completely inconvenienced by the other options? Way to show your bias against Prop 1 again Statesment. SMH

Waited 45 minutes for a pre-scheduled cab that didn't show up. Then tried getme, and nobody answered two requests over 20 minutes. Pathetic alternative options

    people drive drunk instead

We tried for hours to get a ride with GetMe. It was impossible. We finally got them to accept one ride and for the .7 mile drive he drove us it cost $25. It was awful and embarrassing because we had people in from out of town.
