At Tokyo 1964, Dezsö Gyarmati wins his record-setting fifth straight Olympic water polo medal dating back to London 1948 as Hungary wins gold.
At Melbourne 1956, just three weeks after an invasion by Soviet troops into Hungary to crush a revolt against Communist rule, the match between the two nations turns into a brawl and is halted with Hungary leading 4-0. It is later dubbed the “Blood in the Water” match, as Hungary went on to win gold.
