Criminals do not obey laws. The one thing that stops a criminal with a gun is a good person with a gun.

If laws are so effective, why don't they just make it illegal for criminals to have guns and let the rest of us alone?

The people involved in almost every shooting obtains the gun illegally, so gun control wont stop that. It will only stop the responsible people from obtaining a gun. Then only criminals will have guns.. That would cause more violence than it would prevent. They just use this as an excuse to take everyones guns so they cant defend their selves from a corrupt government.
