Nothing is free. Ever. The people that use it pay, or it is funded by the tax base, and everyone pays. Personally, this seems like a reasonable example of something that should be a user-pay facility.

Sikome is fine the way it is .. No need for extra staff .. You should be ashamed of this , how are people supposed to afford anything right now? Calgary isn't feeling like somewhere I want to live anymore

I am disgusted with this decision...our family has been fortunate to live in a lake area close to Lake Sikome...but not everyone has access to fun in the sun and water on a beautiful hot summer day...so single Mom's or one wage earner families will now not be able to afford the luxury of this venue. Lake Sikome has ALWAYS had life guards for the population of those using the lake...another $$$$$ grab from the NDP government...and who is affected...those in the low income bracket....maybe they should cut some of their staff...or find another way to save $$$!!
