First, I would like to say that the way you presented the question is bias when you called people who are in desperate situations...Panhandlers. You predetermined the result of the question. Secondly, if we were concerned about the plight of others, we would do something constructive for them. By arresting them, we are cleansing our environment of disturbing sights and using tax dollars to do it. Why not put these dollars to work for a real solution like establishing a shelter with services that might include mental health care, drug rehab, education, family contact and job/education services. Will we save everyone? Never, but what about the people we do!
