Would you support a property tax hike to fix Cañon City schools?

Get rid of all the nonsense classes and concentrate on core subjects. Our kids still can't make correct change at the checkout counter and can't tell where the states and countries are located. They can't spell or write well. We waste money on fluff classes. Take that money and use it towards core classes. Get them to really do well on the basics. The money is there. It's just being used poorly.

What happened to all the Pot taxes that were voted in to pay for schools.

As a Father and a citizen in Fremont County who cares deeply about our children, my first response would have been an emphatic YES! At face value, most of us would be in favor of giving more of our money to improve Washington School and the RE-1 School District.
But the fact of the matter is, we do not trust the District, the NEA, the AFT, the City, State, or the Federal Government to wisely use our money.
Bottom line, you have done a poor job throughout our history, and we can no longer support your gluttony for money and power while sacrificing the education and future of our kids.
You have become obsolete and irrelevant.
