I don't do any of the self-aggrandizing BS or selfies or food-staging, and I frequently unfollow those (mostly in my family, many who are close in raw geographic terms who never see me) who do. I post copies of articles, perhaps a few times a week. I have to stay off Facebook if somebody I really don't want to hear from, "Likes" anything I post. I've stayed off Facebook for months and months at a time.
Facebook can be used any way you want; and I use it for news (of the mass media sort).

This is a poll given online so there's a good chance people are tech savvy enough to spend time online. The results are probably biased.
