I think Nate's new statement was him putting himself at the start of the right path. Only time will tell if it was a ploy to shut the critics up or if it was an earnest new understanding of his past indiscretions. If this is the only thing that he does, no one will ever trust that's he actually learned why his past behavior and present horrible statements were out of ignorance /privilege and not a scheme to seem like he learned anything.
