I feel homework should be more of a time they review work they learned in school already. I don't feel they should learn new information at home. As for reading that is something that should be done daily regardless if its assigned or not.

I really think its important to keep some homework coming home as our children are advancing in the grades level I believe this kept me as a mom intuitive as to where my sons really struggle and allowed me to get help for them rather than wait for that letter that email from a teacher that my sons are having a difficult time this academic area.
