Yikes...just wondering, have you stopped watching the show? If I had all those problems with it (if I disliked all of those things is what I mean), I would have.

    @Glide Path:
No. The episode was bad.. It only strengthened my resolve.

  • Christian Harisay - 7 years ago

Holy shit... every choice on here is a good option, except for background ponies staying in the background, because I fucking love Derpy.

Discord's reformation honestly could have worked if he went to being sometimes a nuisance yet sometimes an ally, which would have made him an even more pure spiritual successor to Q. Instead, then went full reform ("Everybody knows you never go full reform."), and soiled why he was such a great foil to the Mane Six in the first place.

The destruction of Golden Oaks Library was senseless, wanton destruction, only made worse by the fact that what was provided as a replacement is one of the most eye-gouging pieces of architecture ever devised. Every time I think about that monument of sins, I think of what The God Emperor of Man said in If The Emperor Had A Text-To-Speech Device upon seeing a dreadknight for the first time: "OH. MY. SELF. WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK IS THAT STUPID ASS THING? THAT IS THE WORST THING I HAVE EVER FUCKING SEEN EVER. IF I STILL HAD EYES, I WOULD REQUIRE SOMEONE TO DEPOSIT PROMETHIUM INFUSED FLOOR CLEANER INTO THEM. WHAT TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE PERSON DESIGNED THIS?"

Cadance (who shall be henceforth referred to as "Princess Barbie") was never designed to be an alicorn. Perhaps less time should have been spent into making her an alicorn and more time spent into not making her an insufferably useless "perfect" pretty pink pony princess. No Princess Barbie means no Captain Ken (Shining Armor), and there would never have been 'A Canterlot Wedding' or Flurry Heart.

And Speaking of Flurry Heart, she's a Generation 3.5 character. I honestly cannot look at that perpetually smiling, incessantly giggle, pink twat turd and not think of the iteration of Scootaloo from Newborn Cuties... and know that I've brought it up, neither will you. I speak no hyperbole when I say I would have no qualms seeing her torn limb from limb and eaten by Hatred, Demon of Wrath, or getting sent on a time-out to the Ian Watkins Day-Care Center forever.

'The Cutie Map' was the first event episode I'd seen since 'The Return of Harmony' that was actually good--my older brother, Tree Beard, and myself spent over two hours talking about how much we like that premiere once--and Starlight's far-left ideologies made her a more unique antagonist than the series had ever had... and then Josh Haber completely fucked her up by reforming her. Adding new characters to the core cast is a token sign that the writers don't know how to keep the series fresh, and post-reform Starlight is nothing more than a shitty, watered-down clone of pre-MMC Twilight. (More on that in a minute.)

The Equestria Girls spin(/fuck)-off series is 'what if this took place in a high school' fan fiction that somehow got produced. It's nothing more than Hasbro's piss-poor attempt to muscle in on Monster High's "success", yet ironically gained no audience outside a niche of the MLP:FiM fanbase. It's a malformed mistake that has no idea as to either what it wants to be or what it should be. Rainbow Rocks only gets a pass because people enjoy the shitty pop-rock in it for some reason, Sunset's arc really only made her another bland knock off of Twilight, and Flash is the worst character in the entire generation.

But if there was one thing that has done more damage to the series than anything else, it without question was making Twilight an alicorn princess. At best it's meaningless and at worst it's the jumping the shark moment. The show is trying to have Twilight both ways; adorkable bookworm and regal soverneign, but it functionally can't. If Twilight is supposed to be the princess of friendship, then her arc is complete, yet she still has to keep relearning all her friendship lessons (thanks, McCartrhy). Without MMC, there wouldn't be this invented vacuum that Sunset and Starlight are trying (and failing) to fill, and the show would have to rely on sturdy characters--and not gimmicks like the Tirek fight-- to continue.

    @tailslover13

A good amount of people don't like Starlight because in their opinions her reformation was rushed and wasn't done right (her backstory was also weak, she enslaves a whole village temporarily, and nearly screws up time, and doesn't get any punishment at all), she hasn't done all too much, and it seems like she's become too perfect as a character, though I wouldn't say "Mary Sue-ish". I'm not a fan of Starlight and feel she's wasted potential, but if you like her, I respect your opinion.

  • Glide Path - 7 years ago

Anyone out there regretting voting the Starlight option after today's episode?

  • Why is this fandom so butthurt all the time? - 7 years ago

I voted "other." My joking answer is "FiM doesn't exist anymore. Problem solved." My real answer is "Nothing. This fandom needs to be less butthurt over ever little thing."

  • Saturnina - 7 years ago

    Dumb poll is dumb.
I thought everyone got over the tree and princess drama? No? Ugh.
I never found Discord to be a particularly interesting villain, so I'm much happier with him as an antihero. Also, again, people are still unhappy about this?
I'd never get rid of EqG, despite all the drama it's caused, it's very personally important to me and many people I know. It doesn't even affect the show at all, and has managed to gain it's own little fandom. Heck, I know some people who prefer it over the main show, and that's fine! For me, Sci Twi is one of the most relatable characters I've ever seen, and watching her story honestly helped me through a lot.
I wouldn't get rid of Starlight's redemption either, as, while I may not personally be the biggest fan of her, I know she's important to some people I know, and I'd never want to take that away. The same could apply to Cadance, Flurry Heart, and the background ponies.
In fact, most of these options amount to "I don't like this, so it should have never happened!" Really, it's like this was made just to stir up more drama.

  • Alfalfa Door - 7 years ago

Other: Lauren Faust never leaves the show.

  • ToonAddict1 - 7 years ago

Definitely would stop Starlight from being part of the "mane" cast.

She's easily one of the worst characters in terms of writing in Season 5, and with the exception of The Crystalling, any episode that focuses on her hasn't really given me a reason to care about her.

  • Millennial Dan - 7 years ago

Derpygate, obviously. They should have left that episode alone.

  • Reed Pyramid - 7 years ago

All options? I mean, all began with the introduction of Cadenza that every other of the options came to be, but just to be sure, erase all of that stuff...

No?, Just one?, OK, then the Cadenza one.

  • Kelsi - 7 years ago

Other. What I'd change would be developing Applejack more and make the show fair. I stopped watching the show a while ago because it's unfair how sidelined she is in development. And people being misunderstanding and cruel about that makes matter worse. I only watch previews in hope to see the creators pull themselves together.

  • DJ Pyro Teknikz - 7 years ago

Seeing this poll saddens me even more deeply, so much so I wish didn't exist in the first place (on my opinion). It's just, like what InfinityDash stated, asking people to contend to which life-changeling (pun intended) event caused the most drama.

  • tailslover13 - 7 years ago

My order would go (from most desired to least desired):

    1. Twilight Never Becomes A Princess - There was simply no reason for this to happen. The series honestly would be a lot more slice-of-life and meaningful if she had remained herself and had to tackle issues WITHOUT becoming a princess.

    2. The Golden Oak Library Was Never Destroyed, And There Is No New Castle - Again, there was no reason for this to ever happen. I think Twilight living in a library just felt so natural and fun, but her becoming a princess and moving to a castle feels unsettling and just...wrong. Let Cadance, Celestia and Luna have their castles, but Twilight breaking the mold and doing her own thing would've felt much better.

    3. Stop The Extra Alicorn Madness By Stopping Cadance From Existing - From this point onward, I really don't have a problem with any of these options. I don't mind alicorns myself; my main OC is an alicorn, because I just felt it best suited him. But, I wouldn't rant and rave if Cadance didn't exist.

    4. Flurry Heart Broke All The Rules And Must Vanish - I...honestly have no idea what this even means. Is this about her being born an alicorn or something? I don't get it. If she had to vanish...sure, whatever. I'm indifferent to Shining Armor, Cadance and Flurry Heart, so I can take them or leave them.

    5. Break All The Mirrors So There Is No Equestria Girls - I honestly don't mind these movies. Sure, they're far from perfect, and the whole nonsense with Flash Sentry has gotten old and the idiot needs to die already, but what's the big deal? They're a fun little spin-off to the series. The series is already great, so why not expand? If you love the show, you should have no problem with Equestria Girls. Period.

    6. Starlight Glimmer Never Joins For Season 6 - WHY do people hate her? She's awesome! I mean, she's not on Trixie's level of amazing, but she's still pretty great. She's like an older version of Diamond Tiara (who is also awesome). She's trying her best, and she does have a good heart, but when she's mad, she tells you off to your face. I love that. So, I'm glad she's a part of the cast!

    7. Discord Was Never "Reformed" And Remains Evil - Hell no. Discord is amazing, but I love seeing him as a good guy...because he STILL has his mischievous streak in him! It's something that will just never go away. Even when he's as reformed as reformed can get, he STILL tortures Fluttershy's new friend when she pays her more attention than him...he STILL torments Twilight during the time he spent time with her friends and she did not...he still puts Spike/Big Macintosh in their place for insulting him...so, he still technically has his edgy side. I love that he's a good guy, but he doesn't take crap from anyone. He's awesome this way. I don't WANT evil characters to "remain evil" the whole time, because it goes against what the show is about: friendship is magic. Bringing about change in one's heart is a lot of fun to see. I loved seeing it with Gilda, Diamond Tiara, Discord, Starlight Glimmer, Trixie...it goes on! So, hell no to this!

    8. Background Ponies Stay Backgrounded - So...no Derpy Hooves? No Lyra? No Bon-Bon? No Colgate? No Bulk Biceps? No Vinyl Scratch? No Octavia? I'm sorry, but I strongly disagree here. Background characters are fine as cameo roles, but when they ARE used...it makes them that much more special and dear to the heart. Just leaving them in the background is disrespectful, and I LOVE seeing them get moments to shine. So, this is the one I mostly strongly disagree with.

I couldn't know at the time it was the beginning of a trend of lameness. It was an assessment made looking back. I stayed on hoping it would get better...and it did, somewhat, in seasons 4 and 5. There were multiple times when I decided I'd had enough and had no interest in watching more. I only came back again basically because I needed something to distract me from some awful crap happening IRL and I'd run out of other such distractions.

  • Sailor Sedna - 7 years ago

    @InfinityDash

Agreed, she's too perfect now. I heard the finale could be the last episode she stars in, and to me, that's a good thing...

  • InfinityDash - 7 years ago

    @Hakirayleigh @Sailor Sedna @LanceOmikron
My biggest issue with Starlight is that she's just too perfect now that she's reformed, or if perfect is not the right word, then 2-dimensional. Since her reformation there has been barely any time devoted to developing her character further. (Only a few episodes... I need to re-watch Season 5 finale and the current S6 episodes again. I may be forgetting some things). That said I *really* liked her as a villain, I thought she was definitely the most interesting bad guy in the series (I can't decide on my favorite/"best" villain, but Starlight's motives definitely made her the most interesting). And actually I would have been more OK with her reformation had it been handled differently, but there's not sense arguing that now since it's already done with.

I could almost agree with @LanceOmikron further down (Without Equestria Girls, we would've gotten a villain with Sunset's level of character devlopment/backstory but with Starlight's unique form of evilness), but you have to remember that the only reason Sunset has such great character development (again, I'd argue among the most, if not *the* most well-developed character in all of MLP) is *because* of the EQG movies. So it's a catch-22. If we never had EQG there's no guarantee at all that we would've gotten the "one single character that had Sunset's great backstory and Starlight's excellent onscreen villainy" that LanceOmikron suggests. However had EQG not existed, I do think we still would've gotten the "estranged former student of Celestia" storyline in SOME form. But whether or not it would have been better or worse than the way EQG handled it is impossible to say. (And maybe we would have actually gotten a conclusion to the arc, with the former student returning home to make amends with her former teacher. I'm still holding out hope that this may happen with Sunset but I'm doubting it, especially after watching the deleted scenes from FG, where a major part of Sunset's dilemma was going to be whether to return to Equestria or not, and she ultimately decides to stay in the human world, but go back to Equestria for a visit. But that was all cut and is not canon. As I said before if you haven't watched those deletd scenes, do it! They're really good. And the song that was cut, which was initially a Sunset/Twilight duet, but was chopped up and turned into a Twilight solo for the final film... don't get me started).

Anyways, in the end, I still like EQG even with its flaws, the music is excellent (IMO better than many of the songs in the show), and Sunset Shimmer is just the so... human. Which is why I like her character so much.

  • Hakirayleigh - 7 years ago

@Sailor Sedna. I only find one problem with Starlight: Her backstory. Obviously Starlight issue cause my childhood friend didn't contact her again was rushed. But her evil side and her reformation is good. Think about it...Twilight didn't defeat Starlight with her skills and her power. The only way was a speech about to give an opportunity friendship. If Twilight only with that applies a great punishment (Starlight even was prepared to any punishment). But she didn't trust at Starlight words and soon Starlight come back with a worse revenge. In my personal opinion, I would have liked the continuity of Starlight evil. But her character has achieve some simpathy. Maybe a lesser mode than Sunset, But with better improvement than Flurry Heart or Equestria Girls.

  • Sailor Sedna - 7 years ago

    @Sugarless Bubblegum

We've tried enjoying for what it is, but sometimes we criticize because we see flaws and want to express our thoughts on them.

The problem with the season 5 finale is that Starlight, who did all sorts of these terrible things, didn't get any consequences/punishment for her behavior, just a too quick forgiveness, when she should have had to face up to her actions, and she still hasn't had any repercussions from what she's did in recent episodes. That's the reason why a lot of people hate Starlight.

Just because we think that doesn't mean we're "nuts" or "egotistical". Yeah, that's a problem I've got with this fanbase at times, if we express problems we have with the show or negative opinions, they call us "haters" and such (not talking about you).

  • Icy Shield - 7 years ago

    Very easy. Equestria Girls.
If not for them I wouldn't split myself and assume many others from this fandom in the parts. Weird humanized versions of ponies and ponies from Equestria shouldn't be a thing. Not as series that's for sure. If it was just someones fan series then fine I could have dealt with it, but not as official mlp movies from Hasbro! Just no, okay?

  • Calico - 7 years ago

Cadance has been alright as a character, but she was really the beginning of the end. Adding a new alicorn upended the ponyverse in a big way. There was no going back after that.

  • SilentCarto - 7 years ago

    Other. DERPYGATE.

  • Sugarless Bubblegum - 7 years ago

I think your nuts. Yes i get some these, but why would you want to do any of them? Doesn't anyone remember the lesson in The Cutie Re-Mark Part 2? That if you try to change something you will have a ripple effect in the time line. Everything happens for a reason. So you got stick it up and get thought it. Yes there will points where you won't like what you see or what happens, but you got to remember there is a reason why ever event happens. Even the Equestria Girls movies have reasons why they happened. And if i remember right that Rainbow Rocks wasn't going to happen originally, but did happen and for those movies we are now going for number 4 for the Equestria Girls line up. And even adding Starlight Glimmer to the main cast with the others there was a reason why so they could have someone new to teach and have new ways to do stories that they haven't done before. And even bit of having Lauren Faust leaving because of Hasbro was saying you got to do stuff our way or crippling what she wanted to do. But you got to realize a lot of stuff would been different if either Hasbro would allowed it or would been more flexible. Fighting is Magic might happened and other stuff might happened or continued to happen if either Hasbro or even in the show wise would stayed. But like in anything or any show stuff changes and even to a point all good stuff must end one way or another. And this fandom needs to cool its ego a bit so it doesn't ruin stuff for others. Let people enjoy what they love and not mess it over for others. And that a good lesson in Spice up your Life season 6 episode 13 of My Little Pony Friendship is magic. Where you have society vs. people who want do different things. It is almost like in this fandom sometimes where people love to complain about something where why can't we just enjoy the show for what it is?

  • LanceOmikron - 7 years ago

...Call me a mirror-breaker, because if I had it to do over again, I would erase Equestria Girls from existence.

Now don't get me wrong, good stuff has come from Equestria Girls. After all, Rainbow Rocks is a thing. But I think these ideas could have easily been utilized within the show itself to much greater effect. (Plus, plenty of not-so-good stuff came from EqG too.)

For example, erasing EqG also solves the Starlight Glimmer issue. Starlight's entire problem as a villain was that her backstory wasn't strong enough to support her high threat level. But if Equestria Girls never happened, Starlight and Sunset could have been merged into one single character that had Sunset's great backstory and Starlight's excellent onscreen villainy.

  • invinible - 7 years ago

My choice is preventing things like S.O.P.A. from ever getting power to ruin creativity and ability to enjoy stuff the way you want in the first place.

  • Sailor Sedna - 7 years ago

I chose removal of Useless Pink Princess, since that was pretty much the start of the downfall. If the show had kept it to two alicorns as it should have, there'd be:

    -No Princess Cadance bullshit,
    -No Princess Twilight alicornification bullshit,
-No destroyed library bullshit (well, probably), and
-No alicorn Flurry Heart bullshit (and probably less of a shit given to her entirely since she'd be as unimportant as the Cakes's foals).

It wouldn't solve Discord's reform, but on the whole it'd solve a whole lot of issues. Other thoughts:

    1. Kinda surprised Derpygate wasn't included.
    2. Even though I don't care for Equestria Girls, I don't get why anyone gets pissy about it. It has zero effect on the original FiM show, so it's pretty much just "Stop liking what I don't like!" Why would anyone begrudge DHX getting more money thrown at them to do stuff?

This poll is fundamentally flawed. It has no option for "None of the above/The changes are simply part of the story line and do not bother me".

It is artificially biased toward what's wrong, and groups other complaints together with apathy (don't care), acceptance (I'm fine with it), and enthusiasm (I love how they've progressed the story).

As far as I'm concerned, this poll is meaningless.

  • Cloudane - 8 years ago

By far the Golden Oak. They ruthlessly destroyed something special to create that big ugly near-empty castle thing to sell a toy. The worst example of Hasbro's toyetic cheapening of the world we've come to love. I continue to enjoy MLP (and even came to like EQG) but that annoys me every time I see that castle.

Similarly, the way Twilight has gone since. It was refreshing to briefly see the old adorkable nerd Twily in a recent episode instead of the one who is apparently now an expert at Friendship (as if it's a science)

  • InfinityDash - 8 years ago

Hmm... considering how EQD seems to take pride in not reporting on fandom drama, this poll is kind of annoying to see, since it's basically asking people to argue over which event caused the most drama....

Anyways I had a very hard time choosing between the Library being destroyed and Starlight Glimmer.

Library: There was just NO reason for that to happen. Twilight could've moved into the new Hasbro-approve castle when she became a Hasbro-approved princess (sorry for the cynicism... but I can still accept those two changes), but there was absolutely no reason to *literally* blow up her previous home and the iconic setting where so much of seasons 1-3 took place. I know it wasn't intended this way, but it really felt like it was the show's way of removing the last bit of Laurent Faust's influence, considering she personally designed that library. (Not that Lauren was infallible by any means. And I do enjoy the show as it currently exists. But I can't help but think "what if" every once in a while...)

Anyways as for Starlight Glimmer being reformed and joining in Season 6: Well, It should have been Sunset. I ended up choosing this one in the poll. IMO Sunset is a much better character with much, much more character development. No matter what you think of EqG as a whole, Sunset Shimmer is, I would argue, one of if the the most well developed character in all of current-gen MLP due to the personal struggles and dilemmas she has gone through, which are much more relatable than almost any other characters' in the series. Yes she does transform into a demon monster thing at one point, but that's just a manifestation of her greed and anger, something everyone can relate to. Similarly in RR she struggles with being accepted and regaining trust (again, relatable), and finally in FG, it's debatable since this was almost entirely cut from the final cut of the film, but her struggle is with whether to return home and presumably ask forgiveness of her prior mentor, or to stay with her new friends who are essentially her family. (Note: this was supposed to be huge part of the movie but it was almost entirely cut. If you haven't done so, please watch the deleted scenes and deleted song from the bonus features).

Anyways, compare all this to Starlight, who more or less enslaved a bunch of ponies to fit her own delusional beliefs about equality. Starlight overcoming this "struggle" is definitely not something I can relate to. She made a good and interesting villain. But after her reformation, she's now someone who can seemingly do no wrong, and she barely even had to face any repercussions for her actions. I'm sure there are other examples of Starlight experiencing character growth, but, to me, she's just a very uninteresting character now that she's reformed. They could do so much more with her, but now she's basically Twilight 2.0, learning the same lessons Twilight did 6 seasons ago.

I'm guessing (this is just my own theory and opinion) that if EQG1 wouldn't have had such a poor critical response (much of it deserved I'll admit) then Sunset would've been in Starlight's place (not in Season 5, but as the pony who "returns" in Season 6). It wasn't until Rainbow Rocks that many (definitely not all) people changed their opinion of EqG and specifically Sunset. But by that point, things had already been set in motion and Hasbro was stuck with the belief that "The people hate Equestria Girls and therefore Sunset Shimmer" since Hasbro often operates on what seems like a 2-year time delay). Again, just my personal theory.

Anyways I could write about the Starlight vs Sunset topic for a long long time and I know I'm in the minority and holy crap I've written a lot and I know no one really reads these comments very much so I'll stop.

But one last thing: How is Derpy being censored in The Last Roundup not on here? That was the fandom's first true experience with major drama.

  • Ender1200 - 8 years ago

I voted Other because none of these changes really deserve to be revoked, and most of them were for the best.

The thing I'd change would be the season 3 moratorium against Derpy. It's a real bummer that they had to take her off for a whole season. That, or make her officially named Derpy again.

  • Alex I. - 8 years ago

The one scar on Friendship is Magic's side is Equestria Girls. Despite getting incrementally better with each one, they are still a far cry from the quality of the main show. Every time I think about the movies, I discover a new plot hole in one of them. Sure, it would mean making the best developed character in Friendship is Magic, Sunset, not exist, but that's just a small good thing amidst a great bad thing that needs to go away.

I'm just glad the fandom stopped Equestria Girls from becoming a series. Could you imagine the main six being reduced to vehicles for cliché teen high school drama? Talk about spitting in the face of Lauren's vision.

  • Frith - 8 years ago

@Glide Path: Screw Loose may have been meant as a bloodless mechanic to move the hospital personnel quickly off scene, but it is a disturbing concept that a pony's Special Talent could be being barking mad. This was not lost on us. See TheLivingTombstone & Dasha song, Good Girl and see also Nicolas Dominique's trance track, Theres Something About Screw Loose.

  • Frith - 8 years ago

Repeal Castle Hideous wins my vote, but a close second would be keep Derpy named and with the original voice. The alicorn surprise (Cadence) that Twilight forgot plus the BBBFF I never mentioned before earns a special mention for a pretty big goof.

  • Moogle - 8 years ago

I miss Meghan McCarthy really bad. Everyone has a place where they can shine. So far, MM and sometimes Larson have had THE BEST openers and finales. Even when there was a character holding the spotlight, all of the characters had moments.

Starlight: a design with potential, but has not been executed well. Think about it: season 6's arc has been about how SPECIAL Starlight is. Really? No, I'm not invested in Starlight. There is no visible character to her. She is not the reason I watch MLP. So far, she can only stand out in contrast to others, not for herself.

Nothing everything that has happened in the show happens for a reason and mostly works out.

Equestria girls has now given us one meh movie and two awesome ones with the 4th one most likley being the best yet (if the soundtrack is any indication), some amazing songs, the complex character of SunSet and a way of keeping Friendship is magic around longer (it's possible that this branch of this franchise may continue past the main tv series).

Discord's reformation made him a more dynamic character that is well developed. If he was never reformed, he'd barley appear in the show and after a few times him escaping from his stone imprisonment the and trying to take over the world would get old after a while. Plus his character development is one of the contributing factors to the season 4 two parters being so great.

Starlight Glimmer's reformation gives us a new character to learn about friendship, much like the mane 6 when they started. She has so far shown great range, acting off almost everyone she interacts with. He development has lead the show in an interesting direction and everything will come into play in the season finale focusing on Starlight and her new friends saving the mane 6 and Equestria.

Twilight ascending was cooperate mandated, but the show managed to work it in naturally and put Twilight on a new path. After spending the first seasons learning about friendship, she now has a destiny to teach from her experiences (while still having some stuff to learn herself). Season 4 was all about the transition and helped the change feel planned. My only real complaint about her wings and title is that season 5 didn't focus on that much but I don't really care. Most people only see her as Princess Twilight but in season 5 and 6 she's still Twilight. Episodes showed her doing her duties as Princess while still keeping her personality in tact.

The Golden Oak was another change that has orderd by Hasbro. But again, it was needed for the story. It came from asking How could season 4's finale be made more epic then other fights in the show? Let's have Twilight lose something that holds emotional weight to her without killing off a character. That scene shows the severity of the situation and only motivates Twilight more. We had an entire episode leading up to that moment. In terms of the Castle, I'm with the general opinion that it doesn't fit in the Pony Ville setting but the show dealt with those issues in Castle Sweet Castle (much like how Princess Twlight addressed the concerns of Twilight's new title).

Everything the writers change in the show happens for a reason (selling toys for Hasbro so the series can continue) and often elevates the show. Season 4 took the show in a new direction that has only risen the quality and I am actually getting sick of people complaining and threatening to leave the fandom at every single change without thinking about what the show can do for it.

Only thing I've ever really disliked was the barking pony in S2, was an embarrassing depiction of mental illness. Don't remember it causing much/any drama though. Out of the choices here, either Flurry or the castle. Flurry is pointless but doesn't really change anything, so not zapping Twilight's tree gets my vote. Purely toyetic and loses us one of the great locations.

I voted "Starlight Glimmer never joins for Season 6" because it should of been Sunset T-T

The only thing that even came close to becoming drama for me was the fat green pony who wanted a princess dress, I felt is was a bit insensitive, but that is just me, one who is fat and I realized that I was reading way too much into the intent of the animators. I got over my damn self, put down my donut and walked around the block.

Other then that, none of the other so-called dramas really amount to much. Dissatisfied fans of the show must realize that they really have no control over the direction that the producers and writers of the show will take and must either take if for what it is, a fun cartoon, or quit watching if it causes them too much stress. The rest is simply vain whining...I mean...take a break and walk around the block for crying out loud.

    @Chev, SGNM

You're not gonna like the finale, trust me...I think I'll just see what people think of it and avoid it...yeah, it's like Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity and Pinkie Pie matter little to Hasbro now...yeah, I've lost my faith in the show too...shows like Sailor Moon did the whole thing with new characters and such better.

  • Bud Friesel - 8 years ago

Twilicorn. All the problems the show REALLY has now can all be traced back to that moment in time. And considering how some of the episodes could have been done without the extra set of wings, it wasn't really worth it in the long run.

Starlight, no question. She's an selfish, whiny/wangsty character that has next to no understanding of the concept of empathy. And then to try to make her shine, they have to drag Mane cast through the mud to do so. Reducing the Mane 6 to utterly helpless/nonexistence doesn't make Starlight look good, it just makes the Mane 6 look horrible.

Really with EQG? You vote for the one thing that does NOT affect the show on any level?
Though I surprised in a good way by the Golden Oaks Library. Wood is better than crystals.

Twilight shouldn't have become an arycorn, err, you know, that strangely familiar-sounding name of MLP's master race.

Ever since MMC, I can't help but notice a subliminal ideology in MLP, one that prefers an appeal to authority over an appeal to reason. Everything, down to who's friend or foe and what's right or wrong, is up to the rulers, which unify the master caste with the master race and are lead by a single god-queen, the divine, ultimate arbiter of justice.

    Mmmhhhkay... o.Ô

I also Voted for Starlight never joining. I might still be watching it if it wasn't for her. It was handled so badly and they had to make the mane 6 so much less than what they were, just to make their poor story even work. Lost all my faith in the show.

  • Sailor Sedna - 8 years ago

I voted that Starlight never joined for season 6, her redemption and backstory were very poorly handled, she comes off like a Mary Sue, plus she really hasn't done a whole lot in the season, which makes her look like wasted potential in my eyes. I've heard she may do more in the finale, but I'm not too excited for that.

    @Anon

I heard Lauren left/quit, she wasn't driven off of the show.

  • Anon - 8 years ago

Other - Lauren not being driven off the show. Maybe half of this stuff would either never have happened, or would have been done less clumsily.

  • Hawk - 8 years ago

I chose other, because there's no event in the show I want to remove. This poll is stupid. It's just a way of evoking drama in the fandom, and I'm sure people are gonna start fighting in the comment section of the poll's post.

  • J47fly - 8 years ago

Break all the mirrors. No Equestria Girls

  • Stunthead - 8 years ago

Voted for no EQG. There's some good songs, and Shimmy is great too, but there's nothing that the EQG movies have done that couldn't have been done better if it was just put in the show. It's why I'm confused by all the Starlight hate. She's basically just Sunset Shimmer without the boring technicolor highschool.

  • Anonypony - 8 years ago

    No Twilight wing removal?

  • Mike Rosoft - 8 years ago

It's easy. Undoing an event would have caused an even greater drama than the event itself, so I go back in time and make it so that I no longer have to undo a show event.

i pick Discord staying evil! which is so weird to me, because of course i don't "support" anyone being evil, but it's just... every Discord episode since he was "reformed" is just awful lol, he's just as much of a jerk as he was when he was an outright villain. for storytelling purposes he would have been much better as a recurring villain and not as a "friend" (in quotes)

  • FooglesTheHylian - 8 years ago

Yo, I aggre, while I really wanted the EG franchise to vanish from existance, it would be a waste of good songs, and Sunset Shimmer, of course, the only good thing that came out from all of that, but I will stuck with "Discord should never be reformed", cuz not only that would prevent the existance of FlutterCord, but also his bad episodes to even become a thing.

  • FlutterTreePony - 8 years ago

Hard choice. I chose NO Equestria Girls, but I would miss the epic songs from "Rainbow Rocks." But on the plus side, at least the EQG and humanized-art side of the fandom would be far less. That stuff gets very tiring.

On the other hand, I would be tempted to choose "Discord stay's evil." Mainly because it would prevent all the "Fluttercord" shipping from happening. The downside to this, is that Discord wouldn't be a major recurring character (I love his funny antics in the show), and he wouldn't be shown giving flowers to Celestia in Season 4: Episode 26. Proof that Dislestia is more or less canon-ish. ;)

  • Chicago Ted - 8 years ago

I wish this poll was multiple choice, because there are two events I want to redact from the show canon.

  • LegendofMoriad - 8 years ago

Touch choices. EQG is...acceptable, I'm still waiting to see where they go with Flurry Heart, and Cadence is a good concept (if not implementation). Castle it is.

  • HalflingPony - 8 years ago

15 votes for "other" and no comments yet. I wonder how many of those are about Last Roundup.
