Should mothers breastfeed in public?

I agree that breastfeeding one's child is perfectly natural, and women should certainly be allowed to do so. But I also believe that a lot of the women who breastfeed in public could be a lot more discreet. Many women...certainly not all, but many...I have seen breastfeeding in public seemed like they wanted to make sure that everyone KNEW that they were breastfeeding. (My cousin is like that. When she breastfeeds at the park, instead of sitting on the bench where all the other mothers breastfeed...underneath a huge oak tree...in the shade, and a bit away from most of the playground equipment...will park herself on the bench right in front of the slide and the swing set. Then she'll whoop one out very deliberately...taking her time about it so everybody gets a good look...and then let her baby suckle away. She doesn't even drape a towel over her shoulder, like most breastfeeding mothers do.)
I breastfed my children, and wouldn't trade the experience and the memories for anything in the world. But surely we can be discreet in doing so?
