Why are you voting to give up your rights? You will be allowing any single state senate district out of 35 to stop any citizen initiative before it can even get to a vote. This is overkill. People should start actually READING these proposals before voting based on a sound bite or a headline!
which amendments failed and which passed? The system works great for liberal initiatives because it's a blue state. The crazy conservative amendments fail because the people of colorado are not going to classify abortion as murder. Because of this, the conservatives want to do away with this legislative tool because it's no good for the uneducated racist conservative minority of Trump supporters.

Our Constitution is under threat from outside moneyed interests: the oil and gas industry wants to repeal majority rule on constitutional amendments in Colorado in order to prevent any anti-fracking measure from ever getting to the ballot (even though anti-fracking initiatives failed to get enough support to get on the ballot this year and would have been easily defeated if they had), using a legal sledgehammer where a flyswatter would do. In the twenty-first century, Coloradans have rejected more proposed constitutional amendments than they have approved; our Constitution is not in any danger of becoming California's. Vote to keep the People's right to change our Constitution by majority vote; vote "NO" on Amendment 71!

...and now the YES votes takes the lead. You people favor the Oil and Gas Commission making the laws on fracking and not the people of colorado? The people of Colorado are liberal and moving to the left and our laws reflect that. Amendment 71 takes power away from the people and gives it to a small minority of aging uneducated conservative minority. Don't be stupid and voluntarily give away legislative power.
Wow longmont, you guys and your vote on this matter might come down on the right side of history. Good Job! Our politicians make laws for the people who support them with the most money. That means that corporations are making up the laws and not the people. They now want to take away our ability to govern ourselves and create laws that favor the general population. Fight them and keep our government for the people!
