The bridge makes more sense. It would be better used by walkers and bikes. A bridge would be a way to go straight across the river. You then could walk the Dog south along the current paths. Or straight up to the Norwich ball fields. YES on the bridge. The playground looks nice but I have to wonder what would happen to the current playground we have at the Memorial Park. You know, the one where our swimming pool. I don't understand how the MP playground has fallen in such disrepair over many, many years of neglect. I was under the impression that when all the pine trees up there were taken down it was done to make way for a new very nice playground. In my day 50 + years ago the MP playground was the hub of the pool. The need for Northfield to bring the MP playground back to glory is way past time. Anyway. In the beginning of all the planning for the Water Street Park, WSP, it was going to be a simple, nice, totally green, place for townspeople to go for a quiet walk. Or maybe go there to sit and contemplate life with all of the calm sounds around. Birds, the water, distant voices. There is a nice wetland east of the Dog that is full of Red Wing Blackbirds and a host of other critters that could be enjoyed.
That is my take on this. Thank you Nate for the chance to be heard.
