Do you feel less safe with legally licensed guns carried in city parks?

For starters, you can tell this is a Democrat news site just by the way the question is asked. It's kind of a backward way to ask the question. I believe it will get some people to answer "no' when they might have meant "yes". Why not just write the question "Do you think legal licensed guns should be allowed in city parks"? Pretty straight forward.

Another look at Mr. Geoff Paddock’s statement shows what concerns him is the perception of safety, not actual safety and willfully misrepresents current statute. “[The council] should not take any action that would make our residents feel less safe in our public parks “, “EVEN THOUGH this 2011 state law allowing fire arms and other weapons into city parks supersedes the local ordinance and makes our law invalid.”

I believe this is called, self-deception, or in this case, misrepresentation and public-deception

While the law would not allow illegal fire arms in the parks, there will be some. Here in Fort Wayne we seem to have a lot of guns on the streets. The idea of allowing legal fire arms intimates that persons with CCW would be willing to shoot it out with these bad guys and that would require some law enforcement level courage that just might not be present. Also those with CCW might have their guns taken by one of these crooks.
We do not need more guns on the street

Contrary to popular beliefs, most democrats as myself believe in the right to protect life and property. Legal gun owners are not the problem.

Ask yourself, " Would I rather be safe than sorry?" I'd rather be safe. I'm a CCW carrier and I will always carry mine. Think of all the past thing's that have happened in the parks,.

If you are a responsible CCW holder then no one will know you are carrying a concealed weapon in the park. I've carried in the parks for years and will continue to do so. There is no reason to open carry only to prove a point!

Indiana State law prohibit local municipalities from making any gun laws that are more restrictive than the states. That was signed into law a few years ago so why is this even being discussed?

If you can legally carry a gun why not in a park it's the people who can't legally carry that scare me! I am a women wit children why shouldn't I be allowed to carry legally in a park to protect my family.

Legal carry firearm owners are rarely the offender in a violent crime. If my personal protection offends or scares you, take a moment to read a Chicago news feed. You'll see what strict gun laws really achieve.
