Give part of it to University of South Alabama , develop part for water front access.

As a tourism and e commerce professional, it is my opinion whomever developed and executed the marketing must have been under funded and probably hobbled by foes looking for a way to shut her down.

If a cruise ship is being home ported outside your doorstep only a fool or a crook shuts it down the week prior to launch.

    I cry foul

There was not enough advertisements for Gulf Quest. I recently visited because of a field trip. I thought it was absolutely fabulous and have recommended it to everyone I have seen since. The whole place is amazingly interactive. Every staff member was friendly, professional and educated to their job. The food served at the cafe was delicious. Every child in our group loved it. We were already planning to bring our scout troop back before the end of the year. I also wanted to have my children's birthday parties there next year. I really can't believe it's closed. Such a great place to spend the day!

I have a suspicion that this place was dreamt up by folks with little to no clue about creating and/or sustaining attractions. For example, I live here in Mobile and don't have a clue about what's behind the doors of thy place, so how would anyone from out of town know what to expect? I think the operation needs to be sold to, or at least advised by, a hero in the attraction industry, such as Ripleys. I think a strong marketing campaign is what this place is lacking. I think the city should give the place the money but ONLY with a detailed agenda of how they can spend it to advance promotion. Side note/question...did gulf quest align themselves with schools to become a field trip destination?

One year is not adequate to develop Gulfquest as a venue. I do believe the price of entry should be lowered. Gulfquest is a tremendous facility Mobile needs to try to facilitate the retention in its present form.

I suggest to leave it open until the end of the year and see how much interest you get from the 2 cruise lines coming through Mobile and when people vine to ice skate they can visit the museum and maybe even eat there
