This question's choices imply that paper voting perfectly guarantees privacy and security.

It is important to get as many people voting as possible. By allowing on line voting in addition to paper ballots it should ensure more people will cast their votes.

I have little faith in the ability of the govt to competently operate a computerized voting system given their ongoing payroll fiasco. Also, how would online voting be scrutinized.

This question is stupid, it's like did you stop beating your wife?

  • Yvonne Coltman - 7 years ago

Wow talk about slimy. Wording the question by trying 5o make u feel guilty about your choice. There are ways to make it accessible to everyone if willing..I want to mark my ballot and not worry that someone changed it! Who wouldn't!?

Keep the paper system it is more secure too much room for fraud if done on line.

This government is running around like a chicken with its head cut off,one disaster after another, what a joke if it were not real. And no one with enough sense to stop him.Take my picture, win over some new friends like a teenager on Facebook. We will be the laughing stock of the West,Yes Canada is Back, back in the shitter.I have never been so embrassed with a Prime Minister in my life.

I used to favour online voting, but with the proliferation of social media and digital couch potatoes, I now think democracy deserves citizens getting off their asses (unless they can't and then should be accommodated) and going down to the polling station. Democracy requires some physical community.

Do not change results based on"1st past the post". The liberals, living in a 40-year old dreamland and in order to kefp their grip on power for an unlimited future, they are now trying to rig the electoral system in their favout.

Putting the voting system on Blockchain would make this a non-issue for the security part at least. Privacy - that's optional because would depending on how the Blockchain voting system is designed and if independent audit confirmed identity of vote concealed. Technology is already here. There are 100,000,000 US Americans that did not cast their ballot in this US election. Unbelievable but it is the reality. The issue remains how to deal with the risk of security of online connected devices, the abuse or forced voting or even purchase of votes.

I see no reason why anyone wants to change the voting system. If we move to electronic method of counting rather than paper, temporary jobs are lost plus we open up to hacking problems. We lose community gathering at the polls and national fun & togetherness with a common cause is lost.

Keep the existing system. It works fine. Improve accessibility by using digital means and expanded advanced voting options.

  • Michele Davis - 7 years ago

Keep 1st past the post. The liberals want to rig things to their advantage.

  • Ron Hoffart - 7 years ago

I prefer to vote for the person who will represent me. I do not want a committee deciding who should proportionally represent a reiding. The person not the proportion

    Keep first pass the post.
Any changes this government might make would to would be to their advantage.

More wasted money by a liberal party that is still in the 1960's, Trudeau continues to live in dreamland not upholding our commitments abroad and refusing to acknowledge the truth of our sadly depleted military , wasting billions that will need to be repaid in the future sadly buying votes with our own money ends with the loss of democracy!
