Tampabay failed in its original attempt because it was a league owned team with no strong local ownership, and as that void was not being filled the league decided to pull the plug not due to lack of interest from fans, but rather because it's nonsensical to have a league run a team for an extended period. We now have strong local owner. Also Raymond James was too big a stadium to support that team. Al Lang with renovations would be the perfect size and location.

Tampa Bay already has a solid fan base with the Rowdies which will only expand if they become an MLS team . (i.e.-Orlando). Tampa Bay and Florida continue to thieve economically, offer a business friendly environment and has an enormous diverse population. The area is a huge soccer hub with the U-17 men's national team now training in Bradenton, FL. The other cities listed have a declining population and in the case of St. Louis.. couldn't maintain an NFL team. There's only one choice. TAMPA BAY

If California is going to have three teams or more (LA GAL, LAFC, San Jose) (Possibly Sacramento or San Diego) and Texas is going to have three Houston, Dallas, (San Antonio). Then why not Florida which is the third most populated state, in front of New York who is now fourth. It makes sense for states to have more than two MLS teams if two states are already going to do so.

No way Florida should have 3 teams if Miami goes through. MLS already failed in TB. Cincy probably makes the most sense, but NCFC is intriguing. Only one other pro team to compete with, already successful NASL team in town and plenty of fans with money for tickets in the Cary/Raleigh area.
