What are your thoughts on giving money/gift cards to adult children for Christmas or a major holiday?

If there is nothing specific they want, I give money or a gift card and don't think twice

I will only give gifts, I buy what I think they like and if they don't want it, it's theirs to return

I go half and half- will give a gift of some sort and money or a gift card

Don't even waste my time looking (they are impossible) I give money every year

I ask them ahead of the season and get whatever they suggest

I get them what I want- afterall it's a season of giving not of expecting!
