Should the next iPad use Lightning or USB-C?

This is nonsense. It's very obvious to anyone who understands Apple at all the the iPhone and iPad will NEVER have USB C because Lightning is the last port that they will ever have. Once they're on wireless charging (possibly as soon as this year) then we can finally dispose of the need for anachronistic holes in the side of our devices completely :-p

However, I think, they should switch everyting to USB-C. Also all their accessories (Magic Mouse, Apple Watch charging doc etc) should have USB-C instead of Lightening.

They should, but we all know they won't. There are a lot of things Apple should/could be doing right now but aren't. :-(

I have the new MacBook Pro and am delighted with the USB-C ports and connectivity. Apple is an industry leader and I think has made a good decision to go with USB-C. There may be some short term challenges but in the long term it will be good. Having these on iOS devices too makes sense for the long term (which is not very long in the consumer technology industry). So I say: 'go for it!'.

Personally, if Apple designed the next iPad generation with USB-C than using that hypothetical iPad as a secondary screen to my MacBook Retina using available iOS apps could improve their system connectivity performance.

Switching to USB-C would be a problem for all the Macs with legacy USB ports. That being the case, USB-C would be much faster.

Neither Thunderbold 3 is superior to both and allows compatibility to USB-C

Does the iPhone and iPad has the hardware requirement for the best USB-C experience? If so could ande rat and this poll.

if lightning is one micron slimmer than usb-c, then they better stay with lightning otherwise why did I lose my hadphone jack????????

I think you have some survey response bias - I answered with Answer 1 prior to understanding answer 2. I bet some people really meant to answer with option 2 over option 1. These should be reversed for more accurate polling.
